End of Nations Will Be Free-to-Play

Trion Worlds just announced that End of Nations will be free-to-play! According to the announcement, the publisher is adopting a free-to-play model for this MMORTS simply because they "really wanted to bring as many players as possible into its massive-scale strategic warfare."

Free players will get access to the entire game, which includes the campaign, the 50+ person co-op, the “Conquer the World” metagame and the huge 52-player head-to-head multiplayer. Free players will not be level capped or restricted from advancing and improving their units and armies.

There will be an in-game store that offers customization and convenience items. Trion emphasized that they "will not be selling pay-to-win items that give one player a significant gameplay advantage over another." Most items in the store will be purchasable with either End of Nations Wealth (currency earned in-game by playing) or with Trion Credits (purchased currency).

Of course, Trion will also be offering a subscription to the game that gives players a "significant amount of value and convenience extras for their monthly fee." Players will be able to purchase a Collector's Edition at retail stores, and it will be the only physical box available for the game. It'll be packed with physical and digital extras.

To see the MMORTS in action, watch the new free-to-play trailer below. We got our hands on End of Nations at E3 and we liked what we saw, so we're definitely looking forward to the upcoming launch.
