August 2nd Patch Notes

Here are the notes from today's patch: ------------- August 2nd -Fixed a problem where crafting components (especially DNA for bioengineers) could get duplicated by walking across server boundaries -Fixed a significant problem which could cause one gameserver to get extremely slow - had to do with a player who is followed by a pet into their house when their house is on a server boundary. Happened rarely, but when it did happen, the server would be slow until it was bounced (frequently hours). We believe this is fixed. -Fixed a problem where, when doing missions for the Rebel or Hutt Themepark, you'd be told your mission reward was placed in your inventory - but you were told this on missions where the only reward was faction and credits, misleading you into thinking you were supposed to get an object. This message has been fixed. -Fixed a problem where some static spawns respawned much too quickly (making for people camping there and killing the thing in question over and over).

Missions no good in this game

Yay, instead of making the missions worthwhile and actually rewarding, they just removed the message that made us hopeful.

Missions in this game are not rewarding in any way whatsoever. I remember when I played DAOC, I would pick a mission, go and do it, and be happy in knowing that I would get a reward for my hard work. This is not the case here.

I should have specified, quests, instead of missions. Missions are a way of getting money quick. Takin me a bit to differentiate between the two. I played DAOC where pretty much every mission had some plot, and I played Anarchy Online for about one week. It had mission terminals, but I honestly couldn't stand the game.

The theme parks in this game are disappointing. After doing Jabba's and the Emperor's I have yet to recieve a reward. I'm thinking about going back with another imp character on the imperial theme park though, with 1500 faction this time. Can someone verify that you do in fact get rewards then? That's what I've read.

to me, missions are just a quick way to make money.

one of the biggest problems i see with this game is no vendors that will buy stuff like CDEF pistols and staffs and other random nonsense you loot. The junk vendors are a joke.

I agree with you jake. 6 credits for selling him 4 or 5 items. Why even bother. They should at least have vendors that will buy player items even if just at a cheap cost. Keeps from destroying everything since NOBODY even a small distance into the game is gonna want your crap.
