Tradeskill Data Collection

I'm building the back end of the tradeskill database at the moment, and in an effort to ensure that I cover all possibilities I'd like to collect as much data as possible ahead of hand. What we do understand is this: 3 tradeskills currently, armor crafting, weaponcrafting, jewelcraft. In each tradeskill, you may advance 10 ranks, upon which you advance a "tradeskill level". Essentially 100 steps. There are 10 Base ingredients for each tradeskill. JC is Iron Bronze Steel Copper Silver Electrum Gold Platinum Adamatite Mithril Special for example. Combining a block of the metal, with a mold will result in an item, presuming you succeed on the combine. You may additionally add a dropped component to the combine to grant the item additional statistics to it. This leads me to believe that we can pre-calculate portions of the tradeskills and tradeskill items available to crafters and players in the game. What I need though, is more information, so if you're a crafter, or have played with it, please post here: Tradeskill, Tradeskill Level, Tradeskill Rank, Metal Used, Mold Used, Gem (if any used). Tradeskills is pretty basic as you have described it except for the one question that has been bothering me since the start of this-whats the deal with the gems that dont specify what craft they are for. Obviously you are going to be able to use these for some of item but what level are you able to use them. This leads me to my second question, when are you able to use multiple gems when crafting something and how many are you eventually allowed to use.

my guess is tht the multiple gem thing is going to be released in the next update when Tailoring and Carpentry comes out...I know a lvl 10 jeweler,lvl 10 armor smith,and im lvl 9 in weapons...niether of us have been able to use 2 gems on one weapon,armor,jewel. But im a stupid n00b Smiley: yippee

Bordael has stated that as of now, you cannot use two gems at all.. the fourth slot isn't being used yet.

I reckon the fourth spot will not be used exclusively by gems. I am hoping we can put in other items such as shark teeth, rabid black bear hides...who knows. This would give the items a little more personality and make experimenting worth while. Anyone who has craft a few levels through can tell you what a breastplate mold, block of steel, and a pectolite gem will make. It would be nice if we could make semingly unique(almost one-of-a-kind) items with some interesting names. Maybe even ones based on your name if you are the first to make it. But I'll be content if we can simply add a rabid black bear hide to the armor above and call it say....Furred Defender's Breastplate.

Just an idea to spice crafting up, it seems so predictable right now.

Thats a good idea , but there is a very big down side. Think of all the stupid names you have seen in game. Would you want to own an item with those players name on it? It would be very cool to have an item named after you , but I dont want items named after some stupid named char flooding the market.

Yea I like the idea of that, especially the personal items. But limit the personalization to only a few items otherwise people would have 100's of items named after them and i'm not cool with that.

Even better, in order for the name to be kept up, you have to be active subscriber.. heh.. what a way for SOE to rake in even more money.

A genius idea.
I was thinking of a similar idea before when I was using my enchanter pet. It would be cool to be able to name our pets, lol
