No Funding Confirmed, Cheyenne Mountain CEO Says

Cyaneyed, a user on the official Stargate Worlds forums, has posted a message from Cheyenne Mountain Entertainment President and CEO Tim Jenson regarding the future of game that was received via e-mail correspondence. As we've reported, Cheyenne Mountain and Firesky have being having some trouble raising investment capital, which puts the future of Stargate Worlds in question. Well, according to Reynolds, "at this point we have several attractive potential opportunities but no confirmed funding."

Due to confidentiality restrictions, Reynolds can't give more details on the possible funding opportunities, but he did say "we are evaluating multiple Stargate IP products to see if we can get some products flowing sooner than Stargate Worlds, but nothing has been approved or decided at this point."

While Reynolds says there's no confirmed funding, Shane Hensley, the director of new business development for Firesky, did say the following last week on the forums: "My understanding is a significant portion of the funds have been raised." Only time will tell if Stargate Worlds will see the light of day. You can read Reynolds' full statement below.

We would certainly like to keep the community more up to date, but we also don’t want to be misleading by giving opinions or guesses about things that may happen or could happen. While rumors abound about our funding, at this point we have several attractive potential opportunities but no confirmed funding. We are evaluating multiple Stargate IP products to see if we can get some products flowing sooner than Stargate Worlds, but nothing has been approved or decided at this point . Many people have labeled these Stargate IP’s with various titles, but there is no confirmed title at this point for any game besides Stargate Worlds. While we are seeking funding, we have signed various confidentiality restrictions and it is not possible for us to discuss much with the community until these potential opportunities run their course. We certainly hope there is light on the horizon. Sorry that I can’t say much more at this point.

Thanks

Tim Jenson

The title of the article had me worried. I recommend "No Confirmed Funding" over "No Funding Confirmed". I thought the whole thing was cancelled at first.

I'm actually surprised I'm still hearing about this game. It fell off the face of the earth and I figured it was quietly cancelled years ago.
