Allakhazam Interviews 'The Guild'

Allakhazam Editor-in-Chief Andrew "Tamat" Beegle had the opportunity at BlizzCon to speak exclusively with the cast of the hit webisode sitcom “The Guild,” which follows the lives of the group’s members both online and off.

Before you read any further, head on over to www.watchtheguild.com and watch an episode or two (or go crazy and watch all 10) of season one. That way, you’ll truly understand the cast’s excitement for season two, which, according to creator Felicia Day, is scheduled to launch in mid-November.

Are you all caught up? Good. Andrew spoke with Felicia Day (Codex, healer), Vincent Caso (Bladezz, rogue/thief), Robin Thorsen (Clara, mage), and Sandeep Parikh (Zaboo, warlock) about the upcoming season, their impressions of BlizzCon and their other projects, all while discovering that the cast has a great sense of humor.

The video of the interview can be found after the jump.

According to Day, the cast is in the middle of shooting the second season. “We just finished episode four, which is exciting. We started shooting because BlizzCon was approaching, and we told the guys at Blizzard, who are awesome, that we would have a rough cut of an episode,” she said.

Day said they literally edited together a rough copy of the first episode of season two the night before they left for the convention as a special preview for their fans. The episode could still undergo changes before the launch in mid-November.

Since the episodes clock in at around four to six minutes long, the cast was careful to avoid spoilers for the upcoming season. Caso said that Bladezz won’t have any scandals this time around and will just be laying low for awhile. Day replied that all of the characters will be getting a bit of storyline.

Also, for more information on season two, you can read Allakhazam's coverage of a panel the cast held at the convention on our BlizzCon wiki.

The cast added that the attendees at BlizzCon have shown them a lot of support with long lines at their booth to purchase the DVD and merchandise, but they did mention most gamers were there for the latest news on World of Warcraft, Diablo III and StarCraft II.

You can see many of these actors and actresses on the small screen in various shows. Day told Andrew she will have a recurring role on the show “Roommates” on ABC Family, which starts in February 2009. Parikh is the creator of The Legend of Neil, a webisode series on Comedy Central. While Parikh told Andrew he expects the show to be renewed for a second season, a recent message on the show’s Web site is asking for fans to spread the word and rewatch the episodes to show Comedy Central that fans want more.

While the second season of The Legend of Neil is up in the air right now, season two of The Guild is a certainty. Watch and rewatch the first season at www.watchtheguild.com to prepare!
