Confessions of a Killer

If you've ever played a game with PvP, you know that people exist that will easily shiv you in the back and take your coin purse without a second thought about it.  They have no remorse, no moral compunction, no emotion.

They are killers.  Cold blooded killers.  And while we are frightened by them (or at least, we should be), there are those that are mesmerized by their abilities to kill for cash.  Even if it's just a few silver from your pockets.  Or maybe something you had with you that can be sold for their efforts.

Or maybe... just maybe... because they didn't like your presence.

Whatever the reasons, killers are notorious for striking fear into our hearts and causing us to tremor at the mere mention of their names.  At least, the accomplished ones do that.  And so, we'd like to hear from you terrible minds out there that hunt the faceless for pennies or pain.

Tell us your stories... your chilling tales of hunting the defenseless.  We'd like to see your trophies, whether they be prized items, pictures, videos, etc.  Share with us your confessions.  Each week, I'll select one to share with the rest of our readers.  Each week, the most chilling tales will be revealed... and you will be warned of what may lie around the next corner...

I am a loner.  I have always been so.  I guess that’s what makes me good at what I do.  No ties, no worries about loved ones, no webs to get caught in.  I work alone, I live alone, and I’ll probably die alone.

But in the meantime, I will definitely not engage in battle alone.  You see, I do have opponents.  They don’t know it yet, but they are fighting a battle against me; a battle for their lives.  If I catch them unawares… they will lose.

My tale begins many years ago, when I first realized that I was different. While the others in my age group would fight amongst themselves, or cry when they felt wronged, I had no such emotions.  If I wanted something, I took it.  If someone else came and took from me, I merely nodded to myself and vowed to find a way to avoid that in the future.  It was a lesson if someone bested me at anything, not a reason to whine and cry and carry on like a baby.

As the years went by, I learned many lessons.  Such as how a perfectly leveled look at your opponent will stop them in their tracks.  It’s a look of determination and resolve to achieve your goals, without the air of superiority you typically find in the field these days.  The youngsters don’t know the true form of the art yet… but they will.  It takes time and practice, but they all learn.  Eventually.

My first true lessons came from my master, with whom I traveled far to train.  I was not seeking a profession when I began this journey, merely a way to channel my strengths to overcome my weaknesses, and thus making me a better person in the end.  So I made the trek to a far land and began what would become a new life.  I learned the most important lesson of all from my master… my true calling.

It is my birthright.  It is my one true strength borne of my weaknesses.

After many years of study, I had my final exam, which I passed.  Sadly, my master did not.  May he rest in peace.  But his destiny has been fulfilled and here I stand before you; a killer by nature, with skills honed by years of training, with no goals in mind.  I am what I am, and I offer no pathetic words of apology for my actions.

I am what I am.

I am an Assassin, born into this world as a lowly ratonga in the sewers of Norrath.  I have grown into who and what I am and hunt down others for a price.  The highest bidder gains my services, for I have no loyalties to any one man or being, other than myself.  And I suggest that you watch your back, for I may be coming your way next.

Confessions of a Killer.  Tell us your devious ways.
