Warhammer Steins Make the Perfect Gamer Gift

It's officially that time of year. You know which one I'm talking about. Time to figure out what to buy for that particularly difficult gamer in your life. They have all the games they want and the latest systems, so what else is there? Steins. You heard me, the most epic of beverage holding containers found anywhere. Taverncraft offers an array of insanely epic steins and glassware for several different games and geek-loved media.

I recently got my hands on the Warhammer Online Epic Collection which features an Order of the Griffon Stein and a Raven Host stein. Each one is over 10” tall and weighs three pounds. They are massive, to say the least. They both come with intricately sculpted pewter lids that proudly display each faction's symbol. They also come with a certificate of authenticity and are available for $119.99 each. Currently the Epic version of the Order of the Griffon stein is sold out, but the Legendary version (read on) is still for sale.

WAR's New Producer Letter Details Verminous Horde

The latest installment of Warhammer Online's Letter from the Producer is out and brings with it many details about patch 1.4 and The Verminous Horde RvR packs.

Mythic Entertainment previously announced the upcoming playable race, The Skaven. Patch 1.4 will include an entirely revamped ORvR zone capture mechanic, the Skaven dungeon Thanquol's Incursion, and controllable Skaven classes that players can use in ORvR once the dungeon has been conquered. Full patch notes are available on Warhammer Online's official site.

Along with the free content included in the patch, players can also purchase the Progression and and Personality RvR packs for even more new content, including mounts, vanity pets, accelerated leveling, and more! Each pack costs $10 or you can get both for $15 through the EA Store.

Warhammer Online Developing New Race: The Skaven

Mythic Entertainment has released details on a new playable race currently in development for Warhammer Online. The Skaven are a race and rat-human hybrids who look as vicious as the name sounds.

Skavens will come in four classes, the Warlock Engineer, Gutter Runner, Rat Ogre, and Packmaster. The Engineer is a support unit best suited to a stationary battle area. The Runner is an espionage unit who will remain in the shadows. The Ogre's purpose is to creat as much chaos and confusion for the enemy as possible, and the Packmaster will act as support for the Ogre.

Vicious, nasty, and not at all what an enemy wants to see coming their way. Are you looking forward to The Skaven?

Daemon Moon Rising events in Warhammer Online

Everyone over at Mythic sure loves their masks, and what's a better way to show off your mask-making abilities than in Warhammer Online's Halloween Event: Daemon Moon Rising! In this event, players will be able to to take part in eight tasks ranging from "slaying 50 of the most fiendish daemons," to completing the new Halloween themed Public Quest: "Daemonball Rally." Players can also earn more influence points by completing tasks with their Halloween masks on, so make sure you wear those ugly things!

You can read the full event details over at the Warhammer Online website.

Dev Diary: Thanquol's Incursion RvR Dungeon

Warhammer Online's RvR and Content Designer Keaven Freeman just posted a lengthy developer's diary on the upcoming Thanquol’s Incursion dungeon that will be available in Tier 4 for players of Renown Rank 65 and above. The 24 v. 24 Skaven-themed instance is all about RvR, but there will be three bosses around to get in your way.

The bosses are the Warlock Engineer Skeetk, Throt the Unclean, and Thanquol with his Boneripper construct. The new "Win-o-Meter" UI element will show which realm is winning during a boss fight. Players can get their first look at this dungeon tomorrow, Oct. 20, at 8 p.m. EDT on the Warpstone Public Test server.

ORvR Changes Coming to the PTS in Warhammer Online

Don't you just love the chaos that comes when one giant mass of players smashes into another giant mass of players? Well, now's your chance to take part in this giant mosh pit of death by taking part in Warhammer Online's massive Open Realm vs. Realm combat event taking place on their Warpstone Public Test Server this Wednesday, October 6. In an effort to test their new ORvR mechanics being placed into the game, the team really wants to get as many players as possible to put it through its paces. The event is set to start at 8:00 PM EDT / 02.00 CET, and Tier 3 templates will be provided, as the team plans to test the night away on the Tier 3 EvC lake.

As well, a second more euro-friendly testing event will take place on Friday, October 8th, 2010 at 3:00 PM EDT / 21.00 CET. There will be a final test also taking place on Tuesday, October 12th, 2010 at 8:00 PM EDT / 02.00 CET.

Happy testing and smashing, Warhammer fans!
