Browser-based MMO AdventureQuest Worlds has reached the milestone of 6 million registered accounts, just over six months after its initial release. The game is set to release its first world boss (or "Chaos Lord") soon, concluding AQW's first storyline.

Whether or not you play AdventureQuest Worlds, there's an in-game event coming up on Friday the 13th that should pique any gamers' interest. During this "Un-Live Event," which will take players through "monster-infested waters in search of an uncharted island containing a cursed instrument," Voltaire will be playing a live concert!

While you take part in the adventure, Voltaire will play three songs from his newest album. Members of the AQW team will even be on hand to take part in the quest, too. The event will be broadcast to all event rooms on all servers, and a taped version of the event will be released in case you couldn't make it or want to relive it.

If you've never heard Voltaire, check out his Myspace page. His music certainly fits the theme of a ship sailing through monster-infested waters on Friday the 13th. Keep reading below for more information.

AdventureQuest Worlds, a new web-based MMO that was released by Artix Entertainment in mid-October 2008, recently held an incredibly large in-game event that combined the real and virtual worlds: a live wedding with more than 11,000 players in attendance.

Bello and Merc, the bride and groom, have been Artix players for three years, which is why they wanted to share their special day with the community.  “We decided to go with AdventureQuest Worlds because we’ve been playing Artix games for years now and almost feel like we’ve been a part of Artix Entertainment’s maturation as a gaming company," Bello said in a press release.

To prove that anything can happen in a game, Troll Wedding Crashers ultimately invaded the event, but it was all in good fun. Visit AdventureQuest Worlds' Web site if you'd like to check the game out. You can play it in your web browser, and according to Artix they are opening free accounts at the rate of 250,000 per week. The full press release about the wedding can be found after the jump.
