I have gone broke buying embersilk cloth to level Tailoring and would like to farm it. Is there some place where farming embersilk is good?

Thanks

For solo stuff I haven't found anywhere "special" to farm it, but the odd Cataclysm dungeon I've run there always seems to be a sparkling corpse when the group has done their looting, perhaps the "northrend cloth discovery" works for Cata too? I can't seem to do a run without ending up with a couple stacks (when no other tailors along).

Getting "enough" of it now that I'm running characters through Cata-zones, humanoids SEEM to me to have better chances of dropping it so I stick to them where possible... ogres in Hyjal, the cultists there too...

Random mobs drop a lot of it on Mt Hyjal. That was how I was finally able to reach my first aid maximum. Just go, kill and sew!

If your 85, do dailes from Tol Barad and Firelands. By the time your done, you should end up with a stack or two.

Good Luck!

Yeah, pretty much anywhere there is a good cluster of humanoids, is a good place to try and farm cloth.

The Northrend cloth thing does indeed apply in Cata areas as well, which usually leads to a lot of cloth in a heroic with lots of humanoids. I also use potions of treasure finding when I will be killing a large number of mobs but they can get pricy if you can't make them yourself.

My girlfriend was asking about this the other night. Only tailors with the Northrend Cloth perk can loot the extra cloth, so it may seem like no one else in the instance is picking up their loot.

I'll farm in the Dunwald ruins in Twilight Highlands. But my tailor also has skinning, and the drakes around there drop cloth, so it's more of a synergy thing.

#1 Best place to farm Embersilk Cloth:

1). Get a tailor. Level it if you must.
2). Go to Tol Barad (requires Level 85).
3). Go to the Area where you are supposed to kill the ghosts of Horde and Alliance that are fighting each other (in the Southern Portion of the Non-PvP zone, with the siege engine wreckage, near the graveyard hill). Be careful of Hellscream's Watch (the Horde Base) if you're Alliance, those guards are wickedly powerful.
4). Kill lots of *bleeep*.
5). ???
6). PROFIT!

When you attack a pair of ghosts fighting each other, make sure you hit BOTH the Dwarf and the Orc ghosts before killing one or the other, if you only hit one and kill it, the other will heal back up to full.

The mobs here are much weaker and easier to kill than any normal Level 85 mob, but yet seemingly drops the same amount of Embersilk Cloth as any other Lv85 does. The mobs only have 70k health IIRC, but are usually half-dead from fighting each other.

The scavenger orcs walking around have 56k IIRC and are wimps, and are non-aggressive.

Barring unlucky aggro (a dwarf or orc popping by itself), there is almost zero danger and the mobs respawn very fast. As a bonus, there's only 1 quest that wants these mobs, and few people even do Tol Barad dailies anymore.

If too many peeps do this too much, I can't guarantee it won't be patched. But surely, this late in the expansion, Blizz had to have known this exists. I've done this as recently as Patch 4.2.2; I don't know if it has been changed in Patch 4.3, but I don't recall anything being posted about it.

I was going to post exactly what Lyrailis did.

The only thing I would add is optional, but worth it. Pop a Potion of Treasure Finding while you're farming those guys at Tol Barad. You should get a decent amount of extra gold and extras from the potion. I also used the 1-hour time limit as a nice timer for farming sessions.
