Question about Racial TraitsFollow

Okay, so I've done some looking around and haven't found an answer on my own so I figured I might as well ask.

I've heard from a guildies that Blood Elf +10 to enchanting increases the chance of getting 2 voids for disenchanting epics.

Also heard that Tauren's Cultivation increases their chance of multiple items from herbs (as in [Felweed]x3) and also more motes etc.

Just wondering if there is any truth in these claims.

Read up on racials over at WoW Wiki.

Tauren get +5 to herbalism skill. It does not appear to grant more herbs when picking.

Blood Elves get +10 to enchanting. This also does not appear to grant extra magical materials when disenchanting.

Definitely not true in both cases. Nor does wearing +mining skill gear to get over 375 give you better chances of getting gems, etc. etc.

Im pretty sure they did, but still, greater racial bonuses dont give you better stuff when gathering/crafting, just like the gnome's engineering racial.

All it does is it allows you to actually craft or gather stuff that should be able for you to get; just earlier.

Quick edit, forgot to add: Before TBC(Im pretty sure theres a lot still in OL) Plagueweed, that herb from Zul'Gurub, the skin from UBRS's beast, etc. were real hard to get without the racials (no racial to skinning, thats what the dagger+enchant+w/e was for) so being a tauren in ZG was REAL helpful.

And making the orange herbs yellow thus avoiding several "failed" messages must be nice, I've never had a guy that actually has its racial bonuses' proff.

As far as I know there's no mechanic related to returns for mining/herbalism/treasure/disenchanting or any trade skills.

I've got both a BElf and a Tauren and have not received any bonuses. Though, I don't think I've ever DE'd and epic and my Tauren is my only herbalist, so what do I know?

I think the racials benefit most when you're moving from one skill zone to another, especially Outlands. I remember when my hunter first reached there and his 300 skinning was completely inadequate. I would run across so many carcasses I either couldn't skin outright or gave me so many 'failed attempts' I'd give up. When my Tauren reached, I never had that problem since he was already 315 and was comfortably in the felweed et al picking range. Now that he's 390, I think it will repeat itself once WotLK comes.
