Errr... you don't need a trainer, you need mobs that will give you skill ups :-P I would recommend killing the level 49-50 turtles, but I guess you're a little ways off :-P

Why do you need higher skinning anyway? Right now you can skin enemies up to level 52 :-P

Maybe I'm wrong
I think you have to be lvl 35+ to learn artisan profession and go after 225.
It's possible to be lvl 34 and have a skill at 260?

no u dont need to be 35, cause my 2nd character is lvl 25 and i learned artisian at 24, u just need the 5g, gathering skills dont have lvl limit like the others, cause if i could kill the mobs that i need to get up higher i could get to 300 at 25

why?
are you unable to skinn the beasts you kill?
you dont need level 265 untill about level 45 er so, which is around where you will naturally level out at 300.

like the others said, it is because you have been around the monsters at lvl 34.

level up higher, you will go to higher level zones. you will meet higher level monsters..and your skinning skill will get higher.

ok so u heard about howu need to lvl up, however if u kno friends or guildmates who are willing to babysit u for a tidy profit just tag along with em to a high lvl zone while they pound away at mobs which will increase ur skining lvl. inother words get 4 lvl 60 friends, if u got em, and have them kill lvl 53-60ish mobs then skinn away yeah it will be rather boring for those helping you but the items u skin sell for quite a nice summ specially from higher leather mobs... also point out to ur guild if its a high lvl one, especially if no has skining up at 300 that u could be a assest although troublesome, still u can be a asset with 300+skining.

jus my two cents

Go to Stranglethorn and start questing, it has the largest amount of animals to skin, that i have seen, and there are plenty of quests to get you past level 40. I would suggest what the poster above said, tag along with someone. It will not work as well with a hunter though. When I was level 14 or so, I played healer (I am a druid) to a rogue buddy of mine in the Wetlands. I was easily able to level up my skinning by doing that. Another possibility is to offer some skins to people helping you so that you can skin. If they are skinners, they will appreciate the leather, unless they need the skill ups as well.

I would stick to Stranglethorn for now, until you level up enough to go elsewhere... There are so many people questing there, that it is easy to follow someone and skin the animals they kill. A few quests will actually have you killing these beasts, which helps out a lot. The hunter camp has you killing the tigers, panthers, and raptors in the area, and there are always people working on them. Right now, it is not really necessary to level up your skinning too much right now.

Hope that helps
