NEW YORK (AP) -- The Fox network said Tuesday it will air a special next month, "Who's Your Daddy?", where a daughter given up for adoption as an infant attempts to guess the identity of her birth father for a $100,000 prize.

Sadly, this is no joke. I'll only watch it if Jerry Springer is the host.

yet another perfect example of the relative simplicity of america and our easily enterainable minds. Personally, this is the reason i dont watch basic televison. I think i might go insane if i didnt have io. This filth is really one of the sources of problems in our society today. When people know more about the OC than the War that they voted for. Because lets face it, you can bet that the loyal viewers of this new reality show will be the same people to jump up and defend the "war on terror" and that the war in iraq is justified by the fact that they planned 911. Ofcourse anyone with the slightest bit of a memory or intellect would remember that there were no such accusations at the time of 911 and that iraq didnt have anything to ******* do with it. Furthermore, i also love how now russia is our best friend and how chzen rebels are the enemy. 5 years ago i remeber an article in the NY times about the poor chezens and how the russian army was oppressing them. The fact that the media and the government are on the same wavelength is probably the most scary thing ever. There are dark times ahead and the middle east is undoubtably the source. However im not going into that rit now

ya it kills me. this should be banned and proper education should be getting the fundings instead. all the billions of dollars being spent on this war should be spent on educating the idiots who are letting the war go on. I wont say electing george bush because that is ignorant because im sure there rae intellicual people from texas who voted for him. However i do blame the masses for not bothering to take an interest in the actions of this country and putting a hault to the unchecked moves of the government

WTF does this have to do with anything? GFY!

I think the dog that crapped in my yard yesterday supported the War on Terror also...WTF is that dogs problem man?

It's a damn TV show, and a bad one at that. Imagining that it has anything to do with politics is like you imagining your ***** is actually longer than an inch.

erm...anyway, back to the original subject of the thread. I think these T.V. shows are very sick and really do show how twisted we americans really are (although we try to hide it by protesting all kinds of crap and acting conservative) yet, a show comes up that puts an adoptee through hell for a few bucks. Congratulations America, we have reached a new point in shallow and low a catholic priest wouldn't dare trifle with.
Glad I could be a part of the downfall of Morals in america.

"Morals in america" my ***. Caught any Japanses game shows in the last 15 years? They make our 'reality' T.V. look like Leave it to Beaver.

...

It's FOX for cryin out loud! If one TV network represents all of American Culture, I think you're severely disillusioned.

I don't see said show as being a representation of the American Culture...I see it as an assinine attempt to keep a retarded fad going.

Sheesh, you two are beyond paranoid.

r u dumb? u really dont see a connection here? u think that the people that are entertained by this have an interest outside the lacy peterson murders? and ur dog takes a ****? being rude for the sake of being rude doesnt say anything u jackass. id be surpirsed if there was even 1 comercial for the iraq status addresses from rumsfelt for every 100 pick up truck clearance events. the truth of the matter is that the junk on tv is on for a reason, because people are entertained by it and dont care about whats going on in the larger affairs of the world untill something comes up and bites them in the ***. whose fault is that? well i guess its our own fault for having trashy values but again thers a difference between acting out of believe and habit.

Funny, I don't remember putting out a soap box and asking someone to preach.

First of all, if you make one more sentence inquiring as to my intelligence with such grammar as "r u dumb" I'm going to slap you.

Obviously your search for e-*** in chat rooms has corrupted you in that you can no longer speak the English language. And yet you preach and preach in broken English about nothing really coherent.

TV is a form of entertainment. If you don't like it, go live in a cave and STFU. Some choose to utilize this form of entertainment, some don't. Generalizing an entire culture based on something that appears on TV is idiotic and prejudiced. In Europe they have several nude beaches, so you must think the European culture is entirely perverted eh?

Generalizations are for simpletons. Accept that the actions of the few do not represent the actions of all and you'll be better off.

FYI: I'm bein rude because you're posting crap that has nothing to do with the OP, and you're being hypocritical in what you're sayin.

First of all, I live in the city not a trailer park like yourself.

Of course I watch Fox, I think some of their material is absolutely hilarious. Yes, I think violence in television and other such fictional forms can be hilarious and entertaining. This does not mean I endorse it in the real world, nor think the same in a real situation.

One day you'll have to realize that TV isn't always real. And that something viewed for entertainment does not mean it will be mimicked in real life. Don't be this chick:

first off, im 16 and still use AIM so what ud refer to as e-***, is what id call AOL type. Secondly, i make no generalization, the people at fox know what they are doing and anaylize the crap out of tv ratings and who watches what. The shows they produce are aimed at certain viewers. The commericials are aswell, i was going to ask an example here but i havnt watched the channel in so long i cant think of one. N ur rit, if i dont lik it, i dont ahve to watch it, But u were the on who brought up the show so while we're on the topic...

anyways, i still back my positiion that you could find a direct corilation between the voting, or lack thereof and the televison people watch. Exactly as u said, its a form of entertainment and those watch it who like it. Im simply saying those who do like it were probably lead blindly into this war

yes well back the masses, have u ever heard about kids watching wrestling and beating up each other? what about jackass? Im sure half the guys who watched jackass weren't 8 years old or even from some trailor park. They were still influenced by it all the same and there were fatalities from people imitating it. DOnt be so sure that because you feel yourself to be a good judge of things that every1 else is.

You would be good to lose the "AOLSpeak" as no one will respect any of your posts, and it makes you sound like a dumbass.

Blackdeeth, did you mean to spell your name like that? And are you able to read this? I don't know AOL speak, sorry.

Back to the OP... I'm sick to death of reality shows. Some of the old stand-bys are still ok like Survivor. And I do like that one show... the home makeover show. Some of those kind of tear me up.

The rest of them suck and can take a flying leap.

Reality shows are getting a bit to overdone. I am fairly to partly annoyed at some of them. However, I see nothing wrong witht this show. Of course, none of us have yet to watch it but if everyone who is on it consents to its contents then I don't see how anyone can call it an insult to all adopted kids. I understand that it can be a very troubling experience to be adopted but you cannot claim that this show will insult everyone who was ever adopted..

Blackdeeth,

I think you are a misguided kid, you seem to be a pretty smart but the way you talk and write seems to give us a different idea about you. It really would help in driving your point home if you tried to make it coherently. You seem to be very up on the news and such and that is a good thing for someone your age. But at 16 do you really think you've been around long enough to make a determination about why America is the way that it is? There are people with 3 PhD's that can't even make that determination. If you want people to consider your ramblings then don't ramble.

Throw in a couple "ignorant"s there and we have a match. The complete disregard for spelling anything with more than two syllables correctly certainly fits.
