How hard is the Level 95 boss fight?Follow

#1 Jul 30 2012 at 8:47 AM Rating: Decent
Hey guys, I just finished doing the level 90 limit break last night before going to bed. I have little doubt that I'll be @95 sometime this week. I've been told the fight is pretty challenging and requires a party to do. So, that leads me to wonder:

A) How should I prepare for this? Is this like some kind of Maat 2.0 deal where everything needs to be capped or you will get pounded?

B) Anyone want to help a Taru out? I'll bring milk and cookies!

I think it is not terribly hard if you are prepared. Contrary of belief, it has been won without Alexander zerging. Best to do this is with LS friends. I am not sure I can help too much because I do not have regular time online, but if you do see me, please don't hesitate to ask.

Since the update which made olde rarab tails more useful in this fight - if u can grab 1 of those and get someone else to grab 1 too then 5 melee level 95+ of any caliber should be able to make short work of this fight. Also offensive casters can easily rep any of the melee positions.

Alexander is definitely not needed... if you use a rarab tail. If your group can do any decent damage within a minute, one tail is all that's needed. I've never been part of a winning run that didn't use either Perfect Defense or a rarab tail, though. I've been part of several groups that tried; they all wiped, hard.

I'm sure it's not impossible without either one, but you definitely can't just wing it; most setups will fail spectacularly to Atori's Hundred Fists (if you even get THAT far, which is certainly not a guarantee either with the occasional 1-2shot WS he can dish out) without some sort of a plan for handling it. Without any such plan, you will likely be amazed at how quickly something without any AoE attacks (not counting Spinning Attack cuz it's weak and not likely to be used anyway) is able to decimate your group. PLD with Invincible will not work, he'll just die to the Enfire damage instead. Perfect Dodge can work for a time, it lasts shorter than Hundred Fists but might shave off enough HF time to get your group to survive through it, assuming the THF can grab and keep hate.
