Which posters that weren't banned or muted are you happy that they disappeared?

Edit: and an easier one", which posters that disappeared do you miss?

How old are all of you admins, and do you have beards? Are those things related? If you do have beards, what kind, and do they have names?

I've always thought mods should have beards. Even the female mods.

As to which of those is the easy question and which one is the hard one, I actually think they are reversed. Basically i'm not happy about any of the posters over the years dissappearing. Even if I personally find someone annoying, if they are brining something of value to the forum and increasing the number of posts for people to be able to respond to, they have value. And if they were more of a problem than the value they brought, I usually am pretty good about just removing the problem.

As for the ones that dissappeared, alot of them. Think of it this way. You start out your first day of school with a group of people who you don't know, but they grow on you over time. the next year you come back and some are there, and some are gone, and each year the mix is a bit different. In these forums, it's been more like you go to school, start out with a group of people, but then 99% of them move away over the next 3 years. to slowly be replaced by a different batch. but then they move away too. etc. etc. I have a whole list of names who I wonder what happened to them, but those would be meaningless except to the 3 or 4 other people still here from around that era. former co-workers I miss working with, friends, rivals, even the occasional antagonist. People move on, and from forums they move on even quicker. Less so from the Asylum than other places, but still they go, or start coming back less frequintly if nothing else.

Hrmm.

Boxer or Briefs?
DC or Marvel?
Which poster were you the most delighted to use the banhammer on?
Invasive TSA search or reading an entire gbaji post, which would you prefer to be subjected to on a Wednesday?
If you could have one forum personality back who would it be?
Which MMO portion of the website gets the most traffic these days?
Have I rated more people up or down over the course of my time at Allakhazam?
Monkey paw or a magic lamp, which would be your preferred wish delivery system?
Are you keeping count of how many questions I have asked?
If you were going to leak the deep dark secrets of Allakhazam, which 2nd world country would you run to in order to avoid extradition?

Also, more of a statement side of things, an open apology to all of the admins I trolled or said childish, spiteful things to along the way. Thank you for not banning my sorry *** along the way. I hope that life is treating you all well.

edit damn whats his face for beating me to ban/missed poster.

I'm 34. If it's a weekend I usually have somewhat of a beard. I grow hair at an insane rate for some stupid reason, so if I don't shave for a couple of days, I can grow a pretty formidable beard. But normally I don't have one. I think the average age of our admins is around 30-ish +/- 5, and almost none of them who I have seen have beards.

A lady never tells her age.... so I'll just say I'm a bit younger than Kao. ;)

Nope, no beard. Can't stand them. Not enough dwarf blood in me.

1. Panties?
2. I'm indifferent, both have good comics.
3. I don't think I've ever banned anyone other than spammers.
4. TSA search
5. I don't frequent the cross site ones often enough to answer that
6. ALL THE MMOS
7. Kao question
8. Magic lamp... who the hell carries around a severed paw? Ugh.
9. Does me numbering them even in your quote answer this? I was amused when I numbered up to 9 there and saw that question.
10. Tropico... oh, wait.

It's one of those games that doesn't really fit well with the other sites, so no one really knows what to do with it. Don't get me wrong, it's very popular, but is it a MMO? there aren't really quests or a set database, so it's hard to tie it into the main archatexture as well as the others are. That and it never really got much traffic so its not been a priority.

Its not really an MMO, no. I feel that if it weren't buried the way it is and had more of a chance it could generate more traffic.

I notice quite a few people manage to find the forum through search engines, but do not see anything to stick around for. I look at sites like Planet Minecraft, which pull massive amounts of traffic-- often more than they can handle, and wonder why Zam can't do the same kind of thing. It might be slow at first, but I can definitely see a small section dedicated to Minecraft eventually becoming a hit if it is played out right. I'd be more than willing to help, if needed.

Why do some entries in the EQ bestiary that have screenshots don't have that tiny green and white rectangle thingy on the left that means there's a picture of them?

Or does that rectangle thingy mean something else?

That's a good question. I'm pretty sure that means there's a picture. Can you link an example or two?

You can see that Hagbletha doesn't have one, but then you click her name and she does have one.

Narra Tanith in South Karana is another example.

I just had a really long answer typed out, then accidentally closed this window. *cries* Here goes again...

Oh geez, so now that you linked Narra, that made my original answer wrong, anyway. My original answer was that Hagbletha's picture was added to the wiki Media page, instead of by using the "add image" button. But Narra isn't like that, and now I'm utterly confused.

Briefs
Marvel, mainly because thats what my Dad likes.
I read all the posts anyways...
Allakhazam!
FFXIV if you count just the "Zam" brands, WoW if you count all the WoW related sites in the mix.
You have rated roughly 30,000 times in your career, and been rated in turn anothe 14,000, not counting the automatic forum sefl rates that occur when you post. The rates are about evenly split of what you yourself gave out, though you were "nicer" with your rates earlier in your rating career. these days I'd say if you just looked at the last 2 years worth you are trending to more 1.00's than 6.00's. You also have one of the larger rating pools of anyone aside from myself heh. On a side note to any admins reading this, never, ever open my rating history. it will kill the forum for a good half an hour.
Magic lamp seems more survivable than a monkeys paw long term. Monkey paw wishes you are pretty much garunteed to end up unplesently. Magic lamp you still might get screwed, but you at least have a good chance of getting a decent outcome if you word it right and are pure of heart or something like that,
Nope! I lost count after 0.
I suppose it would have to be one with no extradition treaty, and something not anywhere near china. Maybe lichtenstein? I keep threatening to invade it someday.

And thank you, you came very, very close a few times along the way heh. I do appriciate that though, and for my part I'm sorry if I was more cranky after some of those than I had a right to be. I'm doing well, as are most of the other admins I think, I hope you are also doing well

Why is it so hard to find out what Karma Score is? I got labeled a troll the first day I got onto this site. I paid a year at advance and sent messages. I have not seen any messages back. The people on you're forum bashing, never even explained how this forum works. I assumed trolls are people that camp people threads. I did not know that you can be a troll for making threads and venting. I remembered this site from 2003 and could not remember my old account and email. From when I played FFXI and used this forum for that. From what I have been trying to find is how long does Sub-Default last. One post I found from 2007 said you have to post a lot. I have never been a heavy poster and I have run forums before so I know you can see isp and all post. You should be able to see I have not been on this forum that long.

Oh geez, that one is a hard one. There have been good memories and bad here to a degree. Allanois was certanly fun and memorable, as has meeting various other admins and forum users over the years. The day I got admin was fun too. On the bad side, 9-11 here, the various death threats, the Magi incident, the various Death annoyncements of forum users over the years. those are all affecting and not good memories. Announcing major forum improvements and getting to shape the development somewhat was fun though. Seeing people get married from meeting in the forum, etc. Definitly one of those.
Some of those things end up in the collected forum historical and significant event thread: https://everquest.allakhazam.com/journal.html?user=4491&mid=114533705572534025
