I always thought there should be a highlander style post count acquisition system. You ban someone, you get their post count. For some reason no one else thought that was a great idea though...

You only say that because if that system existed you'd have a higher postcount than Joph.

You forgot the all important "Again, finally" part of that statement. Sure it was back around 7k posts (or was it 17? I forget) and for maybe 3 minutes total, But it still counted!

He could just crack the odometer (postometer?) and manually shift the numbers.

eh, but that's boring, plus if he tried to be subtle about it, he'd have to find a lot of bribe for the guy who actually has to change the number over and over.

It all depends if you realize he's counting down, or if you foolishly believe he's still accumulating posts.

It's no fun getting in a karma war with another admin. No rate limiters. Epic level damage with no real long term results and an insta-reset button. That and all the bystanders usually end up sub default. After the last one, we had to close the asherons call forum forever, and they still haven't got all the bloodstains out of the carpet.

Nah, its much more amusing to karma camp spammers!

Can you not naturally reach guru with a 'good' designation? (ie is it indicative of karma tampering?)

You do but the overlap between "good" posts and Guru is rather small so almost everyone gets to excellent.
