That's like those people who always keep their cell phone turned off at work or at the house. Ok, maybe you don't want to talk to anyone, but it still defeats the purpose of having a cell phone if you're going to have it turned off somewhere in a desk.
Unless you have "interesting" relationships, the feeling you described is not only neutral, but is ubiquitous. The amount of people that will contact you that you would like to talk to will heavily outweigh the people you don't want to talk to. In my experience, unlike myspace, random people normally don't invite you to be friends on facebook.
At worse, it's usually some person you talked to a couple of times. I never had any of those guys actually start a conversation with me on facebook.
