"Man in Black" Johnny Cash
I wear the black for the poor and the beaten down,
Livin' in the hopeless, hungry side of town,
I wear it for the prisoner who has long paid for his crime,

You beat me to it. I was also going to add,

"Behind Blue Eyes" The Who
(not that crapass bastardization that Limp ******** attempts)

No one knows what it’s like
To be the bad man
To be the sad man
Behind blue eyes

No one knows what it’s like
To be hated
To be fated
To telling only lies

But my dreams
They aren’t as empty
As my conscience seems to be

I have hours, only lonely
My love is vengeance
That’s never free

No one knows what it’s like
To feel these feelings
Like I do
And I blame you

No one bites back as hard
On their anger
None of my pain and woe
Can show through

But my dreams
They aren’t as empty
As my conscience seems to be

I have hours, only lonely
My love is vengeance
That’s never free

When my fist clenches, crack it open
Before I use it and lose my cool
When I smile, tell me some bad news
Before I laugh and act like a fool

If I swallow anything evil
Put your finger down my throat
If I shiver, please give me a blanket
Keep me warm, let me wear your coat

No one knows what it’s like
To be the bad man
To be the sad man
Behind blue eyes

It's interesting how you all keep mentioning emo kids, yet not one emo song has been listed.

Eh, when I say 'emo', I usually refer not only to that whiny psuedo-rock you hear on most stations, but to songs that are just about being angry for no apparent reason. If you really identify with that stuff, you need to get a grip on your emotions. :P

Hold Back the Day

Dig deep, dig in deeper
You go where only fools fear to tread
You’ll find devices to kill your master
Why not kill your maker instead
Leave it to the ones who own you
Leave it to the ones who disown you
Put your faith and trust in the dusk
Do what you must do

I’m getting edgy for those departed
Left all alone, left all forgotten
Miles to go and skies to fly
Hold back the Day
Miles to go and skies to fly
It’s Darkest before the dawn

Claw hard from your casket
Six feet and getting deeper
Should the top soil feel heavy
It must be getting weaker
Towers people build up in life
Become frail and fall to the ground
F*** them, their opinion
Deceiving the Honest man

I’m getting edgy for those departed
Left all alone, left all forgotten
Miles to go and skies to fly
Hold back the Day
Miles to go and skies to fly
It’s Darkest before the dawn
Always, always darkest before the dawn
Darkest, Darkest
Always, always darkest before the dawn

Theme from Batman: The Animated Series by Danny Elfman.
I was watching this while I was leveling DRK to 10 and I thought "Hey, I'm watching Batman and leveling Dark Knight. Heh." I chose the theme song because it reminds me how badass The Dark Knight is with Danny Elfman's music.

Now that I think of it, Batman is like a DRK/NIN, except relies more on the /NIN more than the DRK/. Just a thought.

I finally found the true theme. And to those that call us emo-kids and say we need our emoitions look at, just because we listen to these songs, don't mean we're troubled and emotionaly unstable (at least I'm not. I just think their kick *** songs)

The song: Overburden
The band: Disturbed. The best thing about this song, its toned down compared to other Disturbed songs, and it starts off with a prayer type line. If you have yahoo IM send a message to sonic_blue_wildcat and I'll send you this song, or just give me your e-mail address here and I'll send it. Very cool

Fate is so unkind]
[Now I should have known]
[Blind leading the blind]
[Reaping what I've sown]
[If it all amounts to nothing]
[Why, why am I standing in this line?]

Hell is still overburdened
I must stand and wait in line
I may never know for certain
When will be my time

How was I considered evil
Pleasures taken in this life
Someone granted me reprieval
Decades spent in strife

Led to nothing
Repeated in my mind
Led to nothing
If only I was born another time

Hell is still overburdened
I must stand and wait in line
Hell is still overburdened
How have I been so determined malign?

It's the closing of the curtain
In the play that was my life
Countless chapters left unopened
Tragedies inside

I was fighting for a reason
Holy blessed homicide
Seems I have committed treason
All I've sacrificed

Led to nothing
Repeated in my mind
Led to nothing
If only I was born another time

Hell is still overburdened
I must stand and wait in line
Hell is still overburdened
How I have been so determined malign?

Hell is still overburdened
I must stand and wait in line
Hell is still overburdened
How I have been so determined malign?

Fate is so unkind
Now I should have known
Blind leading the blind
Reaping what I've sown
If it all amounts to nothing
Why then, am I standing in this line?

Hell is still overburdened
I must stand and wait in line
Hell is still overburdened
How I have been so determined malign?
Hell is still overburdened
I must stand and wait in line
Hell is still overburdened
How I have been so determined malign?

this thread = the reason people make fun of DRKs.

That being said, none of the above songs come to mind when I'm playing my drk. (Dillinger escape plan is probably as close as any of you got.)

Suprised none of you said "Last Resort" by watered down band X (whoever the hell they are)

Dude. Lol. I dunno. I do have my songs that "pump" me up and sh*t. But they are mostly Techno. I don't have a certain song that like gives me super powers or something. Lol.

Aphex Twins - Girl boy song. (One of my favs)

Rob Dougan - Furious Angels. (Both versions)

Angel Eyez - Twilight (DeejayBee & Ineffect Remix)

You know Sh*t like that. Not that hardcore ****. But I do have songs in there also. Like Naglfar, Dark Tranquillity, Graveworm you know just songs that get me all Psyched up. Like when I gotta do ZM14. (Ark Angels) Thats gonna be sweet. Imma need a song or something to pump me up and stuff.

Ok, though nobody wants to mention it...
I have to say "Last resort"-Papa Roach, not so much for the lyrics, but the beat.
"Enter Sandman" - Metallica
"Boulevard of Broken Dreams" - Greenday :)
