I just beat him with my warrior. Went in, slept 'till 200 TP, blink band, and used a persikos au lait. (Still had sushi on from previous exp pt.) Walked up to him.. did aggressor and warcry.. engaged, and rampaged. Took a few hits and used a few +2 high potions until he used mighty strikes. Hit my powder boots macro, ran back to the entrance, and used a vile elixir. By the time he came back into range, MS had worn. Re-engaged, used mighty strikes myself, landed another hit or two 'till I had 100 tp, rampaged again, and it was over. I feel I got lucky though, he only landed one-inch-punch and backhand blow. Didn't use asuran fists once. I know gaxe is of importance to warrior, I keep it leveled. I just wanted to do it this way to **** off the purists. ;^) Had a lot of fun with it though, and only cost me 30k or so for all the potions on Gilgamesh. Borrowed the opo opo necklace from my static mates, and I *always* keep powder boots and a vile elixir on hand. Oh, did it at 69.

The suicide cat squad says hello.

Well, they say "DIE INFIDEL!!" then explode, but you'll get the idea.

That's cruel and unusual punishment. See, if you strap a pack of C-4 with a remote detonator, then it's approved by PETA, because the cat isn't hurt or abused while putting it on.

But with an M-80, you can't hold onto a remote control and make the kitten explode when you want it. You just kind of have to hope it runs far enough away, and close enough to an intended target, before it goes off. And that's assuming the fuse stays lit.

Gratz on flattening the old man.

You'd be better off starting a new post.
Rather then necro bumping.

Buddy of mine beat Matt a few weeks ago with a Joytoy and NO sword merits on war (yes he wasn't a pld). It did take him 3 attempts (not enough meds the 1st time, messed up on ws macro 2nd time, Aurian Fists the 3rd time).

Gonna try the same myself in a few weeks if I ever get to claim Charby.

As everyone else says using a gaxe is straight forward way to beat Matt, axe+shield is a challenge (TAU items help a lot) but can be done, sword+shield or g.sword is for wars with a death wish.

Edited: crap spelling.

So do we let the Dynamite Monkeys man the Cat-a-pults? I guess we could always have them light the tails on fire. Might be a little hard to have the suicide kittens hold still after shoving M-80s up their asses. I mean, if they're unconscious or drugged, they can't screech and dig their claws into the target's face and hold onto it before exploding.

You light them just before you launch them. Gets them plenty upset right before they are hurled into the heart of the enemy.

OK here is how I beat Maat 1 w handed Axe +Shield with Lv 69 WAR

And yes it is expensive and problematic but with the adjustments made 8/27/2007
to Raging Rush this may be helfull

I was 1/2

1st fight lost because he doubled w Mighty Strikes on for 500+dmag
right as I was using Vile Elixer+1 and as fast as this item is it was not fast enough.

2nd fight is documented below

Starting HP 1134

Equipment
DS+1
Spartan Hoplon
Bomp Core (Which I apparently forgot to equip on entering the BC !)
Valkyrie Mask
Chivalrous Chain/Opo-opo
Potent Belt
Spike Earings x2
Pallas
Woodsman and Puissance
Hauby
Royal Knights Breeches
WAR AF (Feet)

Items 9 Hi-Pot +3
Vile Elixer +1
8 Sleep Potions
1 Iwing
1 Coeurl Sub
1 Persikos au Lait

Fight Summary
Damage Taken from Maat 1285
5 hits 1 for 145 4 Crit for 1140
Healing Items Used By Me 2 for 680 HP

Damage Taken By Maat 2550
1st Rampage 932
2nd Rampage 645
Other Melee Hits 973
Actual combat lasted 30 seconds
Combat prep in the BC took 7 minutes 34 seconds

The fight Total Elapsed time 8 minutes 4 seconds
Chronology
Entered BC
Equipped Ds+1 and Sparton Hoplon
Slept to 200 % TP
Equipped remaining gear except Bomb core (Yes I was nervous !)
Couerl Sub ,Persikos Au Lait, activated Phalanx from Spartan Hoplon
Berserk, Aggressor, Warcry
Attacked
Activated Mighty Strikes , Rampage
Fight commenced 7 minutes and 34 seconds after entering the BC !
Me 1st hit 98
Me Rampage 932
Maat hit for 145
Maat Activates Mighty Strikes
Maat hit for 307
Me Used Vile Eixer +1 (Yes ! After 2 hits)
Me hit for 109
Maat hits for 285 (After 3 hits 66% of my HP is gone !)
Me Vile Elixer +1 restores 550+ HP
Me hit for 141
Me hit for 117
Maat hits for 298
Me used Iwing
Me hit for 113
Me hit for 132
Me Rampage 645
Maat hit for 250
Me hit for 135
Me used Hi-Pot+3 recovered 130 HP
Me hit for 128
Me Mighty Strikes wears off
Maat gives up

Comments
The damage mitigation from the Hoplon is not very usefull
against Maat's 2 hr 5 hits x 17 HP /hit = 85 HP

The Vile Elixir+1 was the difference and as noted 66% of my HP was gone
by the third hit with the Vile Elixer+1 taking effect right after
(This item has a 1 second cast time !)

When the fight ended I noticed then that the Bomb core was not equipped
so I was without that +12 Att apparently

(I THOUGHT I equipped it though)
