SE seems to finally get it: Solo vs Party JA'sFollow

I'd rather become a MNK 2.0 while waiting for activate to become available again than a gimp leech that further employs the idea of l o l pup.

knowing SE they would put in a stance that lowers the masters damage output but when active it fixes the mage puppets A.I.

Just a quick thought I had this morning when I read this thread. Some people say that there is a lack of defence on the automatons especially on the VE puppet.
So taking SE love of stance JA's (sorry to suggest yet another one guys...) what about a JA that lowers the defence, vit, evasion, enmity and other defensive abilities of the master while increasing his/her attack, str, acc and so on. Also this JA (to make it a pup JA rather than any other DD JA) would increase the Defensive stats of the automaton (like the ones listed above) including enmity, while lowering the attack, str and acc and so on.

Now I write it it seems like whole damn lot in one JA lol. But anyway the concept is there and it would help the VE tank, however it would prolly still need a base increase on the automatons defence to make it effective.

Finally to make it a stance JA the partner JA would obviously do the complete opposite (lowering master attk stats, increasing enimity and defensive stats. Enhancing automaton attk stats (maybe magic attack too?) and lowering defence).

Food for thought...
Also some of the attachment suggestions are very interesting! Guess we will just have to wait and see.

Hey all.

Just hit pup46 this morning, so I'm not pretending to know what would help at endgame. But from my perspective, here are a few job abilities that would be nice to have.

FINESSE
Duration: 5 minutes
Recast: 1 minute
Effect: Reduces master's attack speed (not all speeds, just attack) by 50%, reduces maneuver recast time by 25%.

OIL
Duration: Immediate
Recast: 1 minute
Effect: Consumes one automaton oil (NQ, HQ1, HQ2, doesn't matter), blinds enemy for 30 seconds. Based around ranged accuracy, this is a thrown weapon attack.

That Oil one is one I havent heard before and I like it, but how you said all oils would do the same would mean no one would ever bother using a +2 when they could use a cheap *** NQ. Dont get me wrong, Id prefer it, but if you wanna get all crazy and justify using a +2, make it so higher tier oils gives a more potent blind effect.

On the other hand.. Finesse not so good; Im not gonna give up 50% of my attack speed to drop maneuver recast by 2.5 seconds. 10sec recast isnt exactly what Id call bad.

I don't know if anyone mentioned this but I absolutely think one of the new attachments should consume maneuvers for TP, so it would be kind of like a meditate attachment.

Everything else you guys mentioned sounds good too.

So you think turning PUP into a MNK clone is the answer? Do you also want to give BLMs a stance that lets them have access to Cure IV, Refresh, and Convert since they can't nuke colibri? You don't fix things by making them into clones of other classes, you fix them by fixing them.

If you lose a puppet to some garbage reason like entering besieged or joining a level sync party, you don't suggest a way to adapt to BS reason, you remove the BS reason. You don't tell SE "I lost my automaton because of this stupid reason, so I need this JA to be useful" you tell SE "I shouldn't be losing my automaton for this stupid reason in the first place."

If you're losing your puppet due to it pulling too much hate and eating Pecking Flurry or other general exp party situations, then that's your own fault, learn to play better. Use Replicator, Schurzen, Flashbulb, and most importantly common sense. They're generally enough to keep your puppet alive for 20 mins...

I don't think this will ever get fixed becasue I don't think they know what to do, don't forget they shut down the servers twice to fix the automatons and charmed pets getting lost on level sync, and they never got fixed, just this was solid proof SE does not test at all, not even the slightest.

Not sure about level sync, but DRGs keep their wyverns upon entering besieged, so that's obviously fixable. SE just doesn't care enough to do so.

At the very least though, they could at least make level sync act as a job change so it'd reset the Activate timer to 0, I can't imagine that being very hard to do.
