2xBLU In PartyFollow

I'm sorry if a topic like this already exsists, and I scanned briefly and didn't see it. Anyway, me and my friend just recently got the game and are both VERY interested in BLU, and want to make it our main. We also want to play together and level together, obviously. Now, our one friend keeps telling us this will never work, and it's not possible to have 2 BLU in a party and still get a good EXP flow. I'm just looking for some second opinions on this, because we really don't want to accept this fact. Is it possible from your experiences to have 2 BLU's and still be able to form successful, experience parties? Thanks for your input.

Thus far I've leveled with 2-3 in a party BLU's from 12-24, 28-33, and 68-73 on different jobs. I can't say how much I love having them in the party, the dunes range is great for the gobbie bomb stuns, qufim is great (get a mnk and bludgeon bones at night.... they die FAST with blu and mnk), and jungle is great because of cocoon since mandy's hit weakly anyway thus blu can tank, DD, and backup heal.

As for the later levels, more than one BLU is really only great with a really good BRD or COR AND a RDM. No WHM. Diamondhide, healing breeze, magic fruit, and DD spells mean no main heal necessary just as long as they're getting 6-8 mp/tick most of the time from refresh, ballads/evokers, and sanction or macro'd vermy. With a good tank you'll be getting regular chain 7-8 even in Bibiki on VT, low IT.

I am a Galka BLU - only 22, but have exp'ed with several other BLU's. I have around 260 and 40 vit, so i was always tanking, the other BLU's were great DD's. I figure my tanking days will end around 40. But if one of you wants to do the tank role, i think it works very well for a while anyways. Later you would prob have to both be DD, and maybe share enfeebles taking heat off rdm or brd.

Hmm my perma consists of 4 of my friends - NIN COR BLU BLU - so our parties always have 2BLU in them, and our parties always rock. And if i see BLU seeking i sometimes invite a 3rd BLU to the group. Last spot is usually for RDM or BRD to dispel mobs.

I static if some friends of mine MNK PUP/whm and 2 BLU'S/WHM it works out great, tho one of our members is 3000xp ahead of the rest of the party, and I dont think it makes much difference, but they say it does and i have no idea why can anyone let me know why please?

Honestly, I think 2 blus speeds up a party. One of you sticks to enfeebling while the other dmg dealing. I have been in LOTS of partys with 2-5 other blus. I think 2 blus in one party is better then 4.

I love having another blu to take the magic work load off my shoulders. Because all of our debuffs stacks with every other jobs. Its tough making sure your doing your job debuffing and getting off the SA-Claw Cyclone while chaining, and trying to keep up MP.

2 blu in traditional style exp parties are good up to about lvl 50ish, after that the mobs become harder, and having an extra blu slows things down as other DD's start getting powerful DD options.

For bones parties, the more blu's the merrier...blu and mnk are a power combination for these style parties, and the exp is sick...

I can say that i've partied with other BLUs from my first party up to now. It is nothing like having other BLUs in the group to help kill off the mobs quicker. BLUs are serious damage dealers together and are capable of handling mobs with no sweat. So i would say yes you and your friend can party together if a group will accept you both. More than likely you will have to form your own parties just to keep you two together. I wish you both the best of luck and welcome to the BLU family!

Also with the two of you staying together, you guys should be able to acquire your spells with no problem since you will be double teaming the beasties! Happy Hunting!

My brd is level 67, party set up was 2 blu, rdm, blm, pld and brd. XP flow unbelievable. absolutley no rest at all. Problem is gonna be sometimes you'll have the jobs to make parties that suffice you needs other times they won't be available.

IMO the more BLU, the better (if they know what they're doing (Str/Acc/MP set-up, good food, solid spam sequence >.>)).

2-3 is great for your standard PT set-up (Main Heal, Tank, Blm/Support, blu x 3). I've also had some really sick JP, blu-Burns, consisting of 5 blu and a Whm... talk about a stun-lock O_O. The poor mob gets torn apart.

For low lvl blu burn PTs I would suggest /Nin for hate bouncing.

Thanks for all your input. Very well then, the two of us CAN continue our plan of leveling BLU together so it seems. ^_^ /NIN seems to be what everyone is talking about for BLU, but I really don't want to level it XD I suppose I might have too, or else I'll figure it out on my own though. Also, has any more news turned up about multiple BLU's increasing spell learning rate turned up? Or is it all still in the rumor stage?

Don't forget /thf, /war, /rdm and others. All very viable. If you sub /nin or /thf, buddy subs /rdm or /whm, you have a debuff/healer/dddddddd in both packages...
