The White Mage leveling another job at the moment

If you know somebody that has a higher-level White Mage and you see that he is leveling another job at the moment, make sure to ask that person first for help before you ask another White Mage for help, ESPECIALLY if he's looking for a party at the moment, because you KNOW he's not doing anything right now and would rather help you out with his White Mage. -.-

The White Mage with the (I'm sorry, I'm busy now) comment

Don't be fooled, this White Mage really does want to help you, especially if there's a high risk of death involved. Do not let up until they agree to help. Trick them by saying it's a skill up party but then make them stay in the back and heal once you get there, because you know that's what a White Mage wants to do for hours upon hours while looking for a coffer key for you while getting no XP at all.

May I add one? I have somebody that actually read this guide and decided to follow thru:

White Mage and Limit Break 3
If you are a melee with no WHM job to sub, promptly look for any WHM over 61. Make sure that the WHM is in a PT, Crafting, Farming or doing something that is very important to them at the moment. Send a single line /tell, as they prefer short blunt statments over a nice civilized conversation. "LB3 Sneak/Invis me" should suffice. If this doesn't work, try "No Gil Sneak/Invis me" would be a great alternative. If you are refused, always remind them "u have RB2 i don't. help now plz!!1!" If all else fails, try bribing. Offer the WHM some other DD-ing help later for a mission or two, but promptly forget when it is actually that day to meet up to help. WHMs are independent creatures afterall, and they really don't need the damage power. If all else fails and if you must use oils/powders and if you die in the process, make sure to send yet another unsocial unPC /tell to another WHM and ask for a Raise II. Do take into consideration when dying. The Castle Otrozja alter near the Yagudo High Priest should be considered ideal spot.

hehehe.. very amusing. As a WHM at 56, just having planted 330k on Raise II, I'm amused by the psychotic prices of certain spells. I mention this every now and then and people are like, "yes, but my [insert uber item here] costs 1,000,000!!!"

For some reason, they do not realize that spells are black holes in which gil does not return.

...and of course, everyone wants R2! Can't wait for RIII~!

If you are not a White Mage, or subbing WHM, or any job with sneak or invisible available to you, do not waste precious gil on sneak oils or prism powders! This is what White Mages are for! It is their job to risk life and limb chasing you around dangerous areas while you shriek like a schoolgirl: "SNEAK WAERING!!!1!"

Ain't it the truth. Fscking morons, I tell you. "What's a recast timer? duuuuuuh brain hurt! DRK smash!!!1"

Of course the real fun part is when it comes to ZM4. Going through the temple and especially the den of rancor with no personal sneak and invis, I would be happy to let those people die -_-

Anyways, may I add the most absurd of requests...

Requesting a teleport in a very remote area

During your travels you may find yourself in remote areas such as Zi'tah, Davoi or Beadeaux (or perhaps even sky), where WHM service is scarce. Worry not, because specially adapted WHM robots have been placed in these areas for your convenience (and for no other purpose). As a defensive measure against xp party invites, some of them may be in anonymous mode - ignore this.

If you are in a remote area you need not bother to bring a warp scroll, just ask one of these remote-area white mages for a teleport (remember to follow the previous advice of being as blunt and inconsiderate as humanly possible - never say please, "plz" is all you will ever need - in fact, use as much txt spk as you can and as little grammar and correct spelling as you can to make your writing as incoherent as possible). There is no chance at all that the remote-area WHM is busy, especially if they are accompanied by other people. Make absolutely certain to ignore the fact that them teleporting you would also mean teleporting the WHM itself to your destination, causing great inconvenience to your humble servent.

Demand a teleport or raise in a remote area with lots of high-level monsters that agro to spellcasting for a particularly favourable and speedy response from the WHM.

TIP: WHMs particularly like it when you send only ONE WORD in your first /tell, especially if it gives NO CLUE WHATSOEVER about what you want. Examples: "Hi" and "Hello". Such conversation starters should bring a reply such as: "Oh good, duty calls! How may I serve you, sir?" NEVER request a WHM's service, always demand.

If when ordering a WHM to help you receive a negative response, such as "get bent", the WHM should be considered faulty and reported to a GM posthaste.

REMEMBER: WHMs respond well to direct orders, you have to show them who's boss. Good manners and consideration for others are traits of the WEAK.

hahaha OMG! I laughed so hard in my office my assistant came to look at me!

I get suckered into replying:

CompleteStranger>>{Hello!}
uchipu>>{Hello!}
CompleteStranger>>{Teleport-Dem}

....

CompleteStranger2>>Hi!
uchipu>>?
CompleteStranger2>>{Mission}5-2 {Help me out!}
(a bit wiser this time)
uchipu>>{I'm not up for it at the moment}
CompleteStranger2>>{reward}1000g {Help me out!}

(now if the whole M5-2 PT gave me ALL of their Mission reward money, 20Kx5, then I'd consider spending 2 hours running up and down Castle Zavhl, guiding them thru the maze and I'll throw in a free Teleport-Vazhl too, but I still won't sneak/invis the entire PT -maybe one guy- :P)

Some low level ranger runs past me in Konschat Highlands.

I'm anon, wearing mining gear and a bat staff.

Sephirothripoffnamehere> hi pwl lvl me plz
>> What makes you assume I'm a whm?

He never replied...I thought it was really rude of him. First, he assumes that anyone who is anon MUST be a whm. Secondly, that I'm willing to drop whatever it was I was doing to come chase him around curing him.

Funny thing is, when I zoned back in a few minutes later, he was shouting for cures. Oy. -_-

If you are not in town, it is the MORAL OBLIGATION of the whm to cast their highest level protect and shell on you. If they do not, then they must be a elitist ****** and should be pestered to cast protect IV on you as your level your level 10 warrior.

On /anon, got a Holla (from a WHM who was actually offering teles for a mere 500 gil), ran to Selbina to pick up an En- spell for my (at the time) level 26 or so RDM. I'd planned to logout there and was kneeling to get some MP back (Leecher aggro on the way) when the following happened.

.btw, was wearing a Cotton Doublet set with a Longsword+1 and Bastokan Targe equipped.

<<Galkan00b: Are you a WHM?
>>Galkan00b: No, I'm RDM26.
/search Selbina
<<Galkan00b: Will you PL my party?
-- have enough MP and stand up to begin logout process
>>Galkan00b: No, I'm getting ready to logout. Side note: I won't PL in the Dunes even now; won't PL parties at all.
/logout
-30 seconds
-25 seconds
<<Galkan00b: Do you have a WHM?
>>Galkan00b: Yes, level 13. But I'm getting ready to logout. And I'm on /anon for a reason.
-10 seconds
-5 seconds
<<Galkan00b: Switch to your WHM and join our party.
-back to Select Character screen

I'd done a Search after his first /tell and found out his level, which was within one level of my WHM. I figured I was safe telling him my level since I was about to be gone. And I was^^

It is obviously the duty of any WHM over level 10, regardless of their current main job, to be available for a party at any time even if it means running (and/or paying outrageous crag choco prices) through 3 or more areas to get back to a Moogle, change jobs, change equipment (even if you have to logout and visit your mule!) and run back through 3 or more areas. Those AH prices are a lie! We have nothing else to spend our gil on. The person who wants you to join should also be sure to send you frequent /tells asking when you'll be there, and to hurry.

I'd love to use this on someone...

If they're vacuous enough to give you orders at this point it could be responded to with an easy:

"Absolutely sir! 20k gil/hour/person, rounded to the minute, 8% tip added to total. This contract is binding. Be right there!"

ROFL... great posts!

One addition -

On addressing the WHM
Please remember that the random assortment of letters that appears above a WHM robot is not a name. This is merely a serial number given to them by S-E to give them uber status. All WHM's should always be addressed as "the whm" and spoken of in the third person whenever possible, and especially in parties.

As a lv 48 WHM with a static I am /anon 80% of the time, yet I noticed that my Holy Breastplate and AF1 Hammer was getting me /check - /tells from random people. I looked through my MH and re-equiped myself with a quarterstaff and an Iron Muskateer's Gambison. Now the only way people can figure out that i'm a WHM is if they take a look at all of my gear and figure out that WHM is the common denominator. Still, the other day after I tele-dem'd myself and was heading to the dunes for a regional tele home....

Randomperson examines you.
*running to the dunes, 15 sec. pass*
Randomperson examines you. (same person)
*continue running to the dunes, now at zone*
Randomperson examines you. (same person)
*zone*
Randomperson>> are you whm?

To which I would like to say...

Yes my master, in what way can I best serve you???
But before that, could you please check me 5 or 6 more times?? I really love the attention, especially when I'm anon...

Keep em comin peoples.

Status Ailments

It is any WHMs duty to cure you of any status ailments, whether it be something like Poison, or something like Bio. It does not matter if that WHM is in another party. Continue spamming in /say, /shout or /tell for them to help you out (ie - Poisona me!) until they do. Poisona can be used on non-party members, so it's no big deal. **However, in the case of Erase, be sure to make up the most outrageous lies you can think of to tarnish that WHM's reputation so that the party will kick them, so you can then invite them to your party** and they can cure you of Bio, which wears off right when the WHM starts casting Erase.

The parts denoted by a ** symbol also apply when you're trying to get a WHM to join your party (pre-41 of course) but they respond with a "I'm in a party already.". Either do this, or lie through your teeth and tell them that you party, which is getting 1k per 4 hours, is better than their party which is getting 3k per hour.

Ok I have to add this very important clause, as I am a level 37 bot, err White Bot, err dangit, White Mage.

***Upon gaining the powerleveling services of said white mage***

Do go out of your way to offer the least amount of money for the most amount of time and risk involved. Standard payments for a white mage powerleveling should be on the order of 0 gil per level to AT MOST, I repeat, AT MOST, a "Thank u", but never any more, as you would be insulting the white mage by offering them worldly possesions, as we are all monks and nuns who live on distilled water and boiled eggs.

Additionally, attempt to pull a monster that is approximately equal in level to said powerleveling white mage, in order to ensure that the white mage's safety is jeopardized along with your own. Remember Reraise V gives 200% exp back, so we gain exp when we die.

Please, pull Incredibly Tough monsters that you can barely land a hit on, and if you do, ensure you have the weakest weapon you can equip and have no mana yourself for nukes or debuffs. Newbie Onion gear and clothing are highly recommended. Underleveled subjobs or inappropriate subjobs are additional bonuses in making a powerleveling experience even more enjoyable.

To summarize
Payment = 0 gil - "Thank u"
Monster level = equivalent to your powerleveler
Equipment = Lowest defense and damage possible, as the longer you fight the monster and more damage you take, the white mage's healing skills go up.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Now seriously though, this guy tried to offer me literally 10k to powerlevel him from 23 to 30... Um, no. However, the biggest issue was I WAS GOD DAMN LEVEL 30 MYSELF!!!!!!!!!!111111one

Proper Raise Request Etiquette

Here is the proper guidelines that everyone must follow to ask for a raise properly.

Always make sure that if you need a whm for a raise, you should /tell them when they are /anon, especially if they have "I'm sorry, i'm busy now." in their search comment as many times as you can and as fast as you can. The best ways to ask are the shortest and assuming they already said yes such as "need a raise, plz hurry" "RAISE PLZ" or just "RAISE". Make sure you keep asking them until they say yes. If they pretend to not be interested and blacklist you, ask another party member to give tells to the whm. Repeat until the whm comes.

When the whm agrees to raise (they always will if you ask enough times), make sure you NEVER tell them where you are. If they ask "whats your position?" always respond with "the dunes" or which area you are in. After all, white mages have widescan on their maps that displays all KO'd people so its not nescesary to tell them where you are.

If the whm's 1337haxorz wide scan is broken, and you tell them your pos and they come to the pos and cant find the body, do NOT tell them what the body is next to (i.e. a big rock, a group of trees, the beach, etc.) or what the name of the person is. White mages love searching for your dead party members and always have loads of fun trying to find them.

If you ask a whm to raise someone and the KO'd person Homepoints or already get a raise, make sure you NEVER tell the whm you no longer need a raise and make sure to ignore all of their tells. Since white mages love to look for dead party members, dont ruin their fun by telling them to stop.

If the whm comes to your party and sees that the member they were supposed to raise there alive and well and say "you didn't tell me you already got a raise" make sure you argue with them saying that you did tell them (white mages are all liars and you are always right). Swearing and name calling is very appropriate at this point.

After you get a raise from a whm, immediately start fighting again, since the white mage will always want to power level you right afterwards for no charge at all.

If a white mage is in another area and you need a raise, make sure you only tell the whm the pos of the body, but not the area its in. White mages love going to H-11 in Yhoator Jungle when you're dead in Pashow Marshlands. Make sure to swear at them for taking too long.

Lastly, NEVER thank the white mage or offer and amount of gil. Robots are only here for your benefit.

Next to come: Proper Teleport Request Etiquette

Also on the topic of getting raise requests. When a WHM asks your pos, face down by the tree is a perfectly good response.We have a spell that nobody knows about called dead body locator, and it can show us exactly which tree you are near. It is also acceptable for you to have your puller pull as we cast raise on you so you can start getting your exp back.We are bound by a high code of ethics, honor and fear of banning if we do not manage to keep your freshly raised **** alive as you join the battle.

Always remember to ask of we're busy first, so when we answer honestly with 'not really', you can immediately follow up with a request for some painfully irritating or dangerous task, and have justification for demanding it. Any whm who is not doing something else is obligated to help you, regardless of how boring or dangerous it is.

Also when you ask for help, don't mention what you want for help with. Just ask 'can you help me with something?'. If the whm knows you, or is feeling bored, they might just say yes before relizing what you want is going to take all night long, bore them to death and probably get them killed.

which btw, a good response:
newb> are you busy?
me> that sounds like a loaded question

newb> can you help me with something?
me> without knowing what it is? hell no

I have something to add along the lines of Limit Break parties. (Sorry, not sarcastic)
I wwas in a party in Yhoator Jungle on my way to Temple of Uggalepih to get my offering when I get a tell for help on Limit Break II. (Level 53 WHM w/ Genkai I/II done in search comment...)
Normally, I respond with the "I'm sorry, I'm busy at the moment." tell and I get an ok.
I /sea the person and see that he is a party leader in jeuno...
Later, in the Den of Rancor (for crine out loud, kill me now) I get two more /tell's asking for help with Limit Break II. I told them both the same thing and I get an "ok" from one and some very rude statements from the other. I /sea them as well, and it turns out they were in a party, but not a leader, and it was basic assumption that they were in the same party with the other person. (Few Limit Break II parties at 11:45 a.m. EST...)
Does this ever annoy anyone, and should it annoy me?

P.S. I had /anon on! =[

Getting those EXP chains

WHMs need MP to cast cure spells. After a battle, they need to rest to regenerate that MP so they can heal you. This is called downtime. If you have extensive downtime, it's not because you have bad gear or you suck, it is obviously the WHM's fault because they can't rest fast enough. Complain about the pull length being too long and the extensive downtime- your WHM will step up because they are obviously holding back!!

OR

The WHM obviously doesn't know how much MP they need per fight; the puller does. To get better chains, just bring back mobs as fast as you possibly can. Hey, bring them back in pairs! More EXP! Your WHM's MP is not important- their spells are. Yell at them for resting in the fight and not healing you. Request a raise and afterwards, find a replacement for them and kick them from the party.

(disclaimer: I don't charge for raises, I dont condone charging for raises, but that's not the point here. Read on.)

Don't forget, with all other things, make sure to flame the whm loudly when they do something that you don't like. Get into a party situation and say, "Lets see now. You want to charge for stuff like teleport's? (taxi service for non party members) Good! Let me go ahead and count how many times that I provoke, and then we can charge you for those, okay?"

Things like this, because of the stated infinate gil resource that whm's are given, is just another service that the whm's like to provide. Ignore all the cures, protects, and other items that they throw out for the benifit of the party.

WHM's love your flames. They love to be told they are not needed, and that you can exp faster without a white mage. That means that while you are leveling away they can go back and bot powerlevel all of the lower level players!
