It was just a matter of time before the dream ranged weapon was to appear from a yet undiscovered Ulduar source, but for the love of all that’s good taste, why oh why did it have to be a crossbow.....

I really believe it is time for a bow to be top dog again. Don’t get me wrong I’m a big fan of guns as well, but really have a disliking towards crossbows. They look awkward and most of the time, look ridiculous. The new model that’s been posted on MMO is no exception to ugly either. Yes the dps on it looks very very nice, and that it will most likely be a very long time before my guild will be in a position for this to be able to drop for us ( not quiet finished normal mode yet.) But looks wise it's not something I’m looking forward to.... /sigh

I really think that blizz goes with XBows is this:
1) Past Protocol: The biggest baddest used to be the slow a$$ xbows, so why change?
2) Racial Specials: No race gets a special for an xbow
but yes, as a NE hunter I HATE XBOWS.... but I use them.

TRUE TRUE, as an NE Huntard I loved my Bows but have always had to keep my gun/Xbow/Bow skills up in case a better item dropped. I never thought it was very fair having to do this all the time, when I'm out skinning stuff I carry all 3 weapons or at least the one's that I need to improve the skill on. That means 3 weapons, 3 sets of ammo, and was pouches/quivers. Not to mention having to get a scope and the rest of the upgrades as needed.
I might not be good but I at least try as hard as I can to be the best I can be.
hard to tell from that angle but it doesn't look that bad. I have nothing against crossbows. I do have something against the dead parrot crossbow, but that's a different issue.

It was (/is) equally good for all races, which is what I think you meant to say, but it's not best because it's not specifically better for someone.

I think he meant that the racial thing is why the best weapon that was easily available was a crossbow--that's why they were willing to give the weapon high stats, because no one was going to be able to boost it much further with a racial. Maybe?
