Well, my hunter's name is the jamaican slang word for dynamite (being a troll I thought it'd be clever to use something from a reggae dictionary :P), and so when I captured The Rake I used another word from their lexicon, Rhaatid; it's basically their loose word for surprise, i.e. oshi, damn, crikey, etc.
I have an owl too but he is as of yet unnamed.
It sounds dumb but I couldn't think of anything better, and I didn't want just 'Cat', heh.

Galdar, lvl 60 Tauren Hunter... i tamed my cat in Mulgore when i first learned to tame, he was lvl 7. named him Squeek. now lvl 60. also have a lvl 58 tiger named Monster and lvl 60 Winterspring Owl named Hookah.

Pet-My first and only pet for 40 levels is a black boar I tamed way back. I named him Cannonball since he charges in with no regard and stuns mobs. He's tough as nails and he's got more animations than most pets I've seen.
I also had a hunter on Arthas named Brunough, I had a bear name Katowjo wich was from the movie Anchorman (At the end where Will Ferrels dog is talking to the bears, the dog mentions he met the bears cousin Katowjo)

My current is an orc hunter named Karmah. He's got a ghost saber named Casper and really have no intention of taming another save maybe a wind serpent of some sort and naming him Machiin (Throwback from WoT, Machiin Shin was the 'dark wind'. think that's spelled right, gotta go back and look it up heh).
Caught that one ^.^ great name imo. Oh, and on another WoT note, my BL from EQ was named Machiin Shin lol.

Took my chars name from a comic that I adore (John Difool/Moebius) -
and so I named my beautiful nightsaber SilverIncal, referring to that too.
Of course I call him for short just "Silver".
I love him with all my heart - for I have no own pet in real life :(
I doubt I could ever leave him behind for another pet.
My next target on lvl 19 will be a ghostsaber. I thought of naming him
"ShadowIncal" - but as "Shadow" is a real common name I am not quite
sure about that. Maybe I'll call him "Skugga" - that's shadow in swedish
or "Geist" which is ghost in german.

Just started a hunter a while ago (instead of 44 druid) he is lvl 19 currently and his pet wolf is called... Wolfy, the unofficial full name is wolfy mcwolfferson
currently a pure white cat from WS named "Spot"

Pet: Shoryuken (Black Raptor, Tak the Leaper)
Pet: Plan to get an owl or cat and name it Hadouken
Black Tauren Hunter: ChicagoBull (I'm an NBA fan)
Pet: Toronto (Black Raptor, named after the NBA Toronto Raptors)
Pet: Charlotte (The Rake, named after the NBA Charlotte Bobcats)
Pet: Plan to get a hawk/bird and name it Atlanta (After the Atlanta Hawks)
