guess i'm one of those mellow guys...
I have only one pet, the proud white wintersping lion that i was able to get by a verry nice hordie who was on irc... Named her after the "elfish translation" of my gf's name (Karlien) ending up with Lintesirwen...
That reflects at the same time that i look upon my pet as a friend instead of a thing like a weapon or so...
im on a pvp server, cause i don't really care about rp and such... But sometimes i ask others to be nice to Lintesirwen, /pat her and when nobody is watching, i give her a roasted quail, even when she is already happy... It's just... Bits and Bytes but hey... Any good hunter should understand ;)

My Elder Nightsaber is my first pet, and I intended it to be so, just so I could name her Bezekira. There's a bit of backstory to her...
I used to play EQ. Fun game, but too much downtime after fights, among other things. Back then I had a Vah'Shir Bard called Bezekira. The Vah'Shir are basically, humanoid, six-foot tall cats. They are awesome, and have great starting stats. They also just look freaking cool. So in homage to my old main, I named my pet after her. Not to mention, a Bezekira is a hellcat, out of the D&D monsters manual. :) Added fun? My hunter's name is Gamadryh, which is the name of my old Beastlord out of EQ, which was their version of a hunter, and also a Vah'Shir. :D (Even more fun: Gamadryh is "Kelethin," the Elven home city, translated through FFX's "Al Bhed" language. I'm SUCH a dork!)

My first pet was a young black bear named Fluffy. He stayed with me until around level 30, when I went to Shimmering Flats and saw the Scorpid Terrors there. They're back with red stripes, and are the sports car of the scorpid family, in my opinion. I promptly stabled Fluffy and tamed a scorpid, soon to be renamed Skitters. Skitters has been my faithful companion ever since. I have tamed a Frostsaber, but I haven't touched it much (it gets annoying at high levels having to constantly feed a pet), and I haven't renamed it yet. Perhaps I'll take it out & encourage it to level up, or perhaps I'll just release it back into the wild.

I have a Ghost Sabre named Ghost and tamed King Bangalash and renamed him Modi after the nordic god of wrath(or rage...always confuse Modi and Magni)...either way...one of the sons of Thor...next pet will probably be Magni
