Nefarian and your petsFollow

I'm a long time lurker and occasional poster. I'm the hunter CL for a raiding guild on gilneas and this is a story about a prank from this weekend that my fellow hunters and I thought out and managed to pull off for some laughs.

First off, for those that don't know about the Nefarian fight in Blackwing Lair it is a 3 phase fight. The first being a zerg of mobs from 2 doors located in his throne room. Phase 2 begins when 40 mobs are killed and Nefarian comes crashing down to the balcony in full dragon form while launching a shadowflame that canvases the entire area. The phase2 shadowflame does minimal damage to everyone. The kicker is that whomever is not wearing an onyxia scale cloak will be hit with a DoT that will kill them eventually. This is what our prank was about. Phase 3 is when Nefarian ressurrects all the minions that were killed in phase 1 for a massive zerg fest.

We rewind to the beginning of the Nefarian fight where several hunters summoned their pets to help assist in the phase 1 zerg. Most hunters have names for our pets and a bond with them as they are typically ones we have had since low level. These were special pets however. All of them had unique names like "Owl" "Cat" and "bear" and would play an important role. Remember that the shadow flame from when nef lands does a DoT that eventually kills anyone not wearing an onyxia cloak (like pets). Nefarian has a habit of pride in that he calls out the name of anyone killed from the beginning of phase 2 til the end. This is where our new pets come into play. As phase 1 was beginning we put our pets on "stay" somewhere out of LoS of the rest of the raid and finally named them. 1 pet after the MT, another after the RL and the 3rd one after another warrior in the raid. So we are killing the drakonids (red and blue btw) and get the announcement "Nefarian landing in 10 seconds". Time for our plan to be brought to fruition. The MT moves to his position with the RL (a pally) to help heal him until the drakonids are finished up. Nef lands and spews his shadowflame across the area when the dreaded CTRA bell of doom sounds "Tank Bloodsmith has died". We hear over Teamspeak "WTF was that, i'm still here" RL goes "ok move to (about to tell tank 2 to take over).... your still up?"

I'm an officer in the guild so it was very funny to see the O channel light up with "WTF was that?" "How did that happen" among other things. Meanwhile the hunters are lol and roflmao in our channel that we pulled it off. Nef got killed and for the first time ever ashkhandi and lok'amir dropped.

Anyway, I thought I would share it with fellow hunters who could appreciate the intricacy of it. Also, I don;t recommend doing this more than once and only if you have Nef on farm. Otherwise there might be consequences and repricussions such as the RL and MT not finding it very funny, but others will.
