Does anyone know what to do when you know there's a hostile rogue around stealthed? Well except for running away that is. How do you kill them?

well if your the same lvl as them or close to there lvl sit there and let them attack you. first off there stun dosnt last long enough for them to kill you so you will get you instant fear off. shield, heal up and blast away im lvl 46 and i never loose to rouges that are up to lvl 50. plus if your the same lvl as the rouge they are preety easy to see so as soon as you see them let out your scream.

the rogues I fight are usually within a few levels of me (usually up to around 50 and as low as 44), and I'm level 47, Undead.

The way it usually goes is I get cheapshotted, come out of that, fear them, DOT them with sw:p and DP, and maybe get a heal off and mindblast once before they use their trinket and come back to stun me again and then finish me.

I need to duel more rogues apparently.

oh another thing is you fear them and do what you want while they are feared. when fear wears off of them run away from them tell your scream is rdy again then rinse and repeat. i have killed many higher lvls doing this the only way i die if they resist my fear but other then that they usualy die.

There are a few key things a priest can do to really throw a rogue off his game.

If you know a rogue is around. Make sure you have your shield up at all times, as well as Inner Fire. Most dagger rogues will opt to ambush a cloth caster for big damage. Your shield will reduce that damage very much. If you get hit with a cheapshot the shield should help you survive the duration of the stun.

Whatever you do, keep moving, and DONT SIT. If you sit, thats an automatic crit for the attacking rogue. If you move and jump around alot, that will make it difficult to for the rogue get into position and attack. They will either have to back up, or risk getting detected while your running around unpredictably.

Dont wait to get attacked and hope to fight back. Go looking for that rogue.. I promise its very demoralizing to a rogue when they become the hunted. They might just leave the area completly if your really aggresive. Even if they have killed you a few times.. If your not an easy target, they will move on.

They nerfed that so don’t worry

Ok yes it really depends on level if you get an equal rogue on you it's going to be hard.

My fighting tactics are ambush, sinister strike, kidney shot, drink tea, sinister strikeX3 cold blood, eviscerate.

Now I know some of you out there are saying "I would use insta fear on you mate" but I must warn you there is a ui mod that automatically uses trinket so you guys are going to have to come up with a better attack plan.

When people use the PvP trinket to break your psychic scream, if youre in shadowform... GET OUT!

Renew, flash heal or two, and your shield, all you have to do is last the cooldown of psychic scream, 26 seconds if you have the talent...

It helps to run around and you may have to consume a Major Heal Pot to last, but once you get the second scream in... they drop like all the others without the trinket....

Oh... and try your best to get them in front of you.

Rogues are easy to kill if you know what you are doing and are shadow spec in shadow form. Your SW:Pain knocks half their HP away. The trick is just keeping them away that long.

If you need to drink, shield yourself before you drink. Inner fire should always be on. Rogues will always get the drop on you and the only option to use is spam fear. This will give you 2-4 before they realize they are feared. Tab usaully targets them, SW:P right after fear to stop him from vanishing, its critical. Shield, renew. Since SW:P, shield, and renew are instacast you can cast while running. Quick turn, Mindblast, flay, mindblast. By this time they have little to no hp left.

People think that Rogues are overpowered in pvp, but they die just like everyone else if they can't vanish. If they can't win in the first 5 secs, they already lost.

Partly correct. They made it so you automatically stand up after being attacked. However the first attack is still garunteed to crit.

What was happening was, people would not react to be attacked quickly enough and would recieve several criticle attacks (For example, A Crit ambush followed by a crit backstab was common and easy to do)

Even worse, a rogue could cheap shot the sitting player.. and the player wouldnt be able to stand (Stunned in the sit position). If the rogue were to burn a thistle tea, the player would recieve 2 crit backstabs in a row, along with every other regular attack landing criticle during the stun.

Now players automatically stand no matter what and avoid that kind of scenario, but a rogue who takes intiative and attacks a sitting player still gets rewarded that initial crit.

Great Posts.. I was got ganked by a 56 rogue today. (I'm 55 shadow spec'd) anyways after he 1st ganked me he tried another 4 times afterwards to kill me.

I have spec'd and upgraded my SW:Sheild so only have a 15 second reuse. Main aim.. Sheild, SW:P, regen adn start running. He will follow. While running hit Physic Scream. He will start to run off this gives you 2-3 seconds to start you Mindblast. Hit him with that refresh SW:P and sheild and start running again. Kite him about for a bit the second Physic Sream refreshes hit it and nuke.

he should be dead by then.. If he starts to run away from you chase him. Just keep SW:P and hit him with DD's and Mindflays any chance you get.

I used to hate rogues but after reading the above posts and fighting against them I doubt I'll be running from a rogue again!

Cheers all!
