I'm glad I'm not the only one that noticed the load times. Even with an SSD it seems to take a bit longer than it should.
In my random reading on Twitter tonight, I came across someone talking about the Denuvo DRM being the root cause due to constantly writing to the hard drive. They also said it's implicated in severely shortening the lifespan of SSDs. I haven't done any research into it beyond that, but you may want to google it or something if you're interested in knowing more.

Was curious enough to look further. Here's a discussion of it I found.

My main criticisms right now:

Apparently my computer is starting to show its age. I have everything turned down to Low, but there is still a noticeable jumpiness during cutscenes. The graphics are good, but the settings gives all hair an extremely bright shine. My Inquisitor looks like a plastic model as his hair is constantly shining. Gameplay-wise I'm still getting used to everything, but I wish they had a "Loot area" or "Run to object and loot" option. Respawning enemies have been slightly annoying at times. And I don't know if it's a bug but when I was around level 5 I ran across a level 12 breach (or at least a breach sending out level 12 enemies). It was right in the area I was questing in, so I'm not sure if it was a bug that enemies roughly tripled in strength. Ended up running away.

Other than that, all good. Haven't been bitten by the "if you clear out everything, it takes longer to respawn" mechanic. I loot EVERYTHING. And it usually seems to be back when I come back.

Oh, and the "Gather Coin" repeatable mission from the war table bites. I've done it twice and received 77 and 106 gold, respectively. Almost not worth the hour wait... but I have no other missions to send them on right now, I guess?

Edit:

And yes, load times are very long. I've been disconnected three times, and each time it feels like a 5-minute process to get back into it.

Edit2: Not sure if it's a DA: The Last Court result or not, but I did have the option to investigate Serault from my war map. I think it just gave me a Codex entry and some gold.

This is my worry about this game.

I've not bought it yet, and in fact, haven't checked the requirements. I hate to purchase it at full price and not be able to run it well. But I want to play....cuz peer pressure. Smiley: frown

I haven't noticed super-shiny hair but I'm playing on High so maybe it blends a little better. Beards looked ridiculously bad (at least the human ones did) when I was picking my model though.

I made a human SnB he kind of ended up looking like my Sheppard which is cool. I always go SnB for my first run of these games. Not because I think it's safe, I just genuinely enjoy the fighting style.

As for the beards I found the Irish chin beard with stuble went well on my scarred gruff warrior guy. The smaller beards are not bad they kind of seem to crap out in the bigger fuller versions.

I let it set defaults on my 670TI and installed the new Nvidia driver this morning. I'm getting a bit of stutter in cut scenes. So I may have to adjust a bit. May finally be time for me to upgrade my GFX card. (Which frankly I like having an excuse to do anyway.) Smiley: nod

I'm picturing the bearded woman that was available in the brothel in DA:Origins. That was a pretty bad beard. But they shut the lights out so....meh.

Stick with the girl toons I guess.

Poldaran, I have to get a microwave before I get a new computer. And then the holidays....blah.

Still, I figure Diablo III runs swell on my machine. I've only had recent trouble with MMO's. ESO particularly. I've got sixty bucks rolling around in my mad money account...so.... we shall see.

Funny, my daughter, who is not really a gamer (as compared to her mother and brother) loves the DA series - she's playing Inquisition.

Go on Kickstarter and say you need a new computer to search DA:I for anti-feminist sentiment. Instant gaming box! Smiley: grin

CPU: AMD quad-core CUP @2.5 GHz / Intel quad-core CPU @2.0 GHz
System RAM: 4 GB

CPU: AMD six-core CPU @ 3.2 GHz / Intel quad-core CPU @3.0 GHz
System RAM: 8 GB
Graphics Card: AMD Radeon HD 7870 or R9 270 / NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660

Your answer to both of those problems is garage sales. Computer comes first. Smiley: nod

My advice in this matter should probably be ignored. Well, maybe not for the microwave if you wanna be cheap.

You can't beat seven dollars for a Christmas present. Edit: Without going to the dollar store, I mean.

I could have my own garage sale with all the old computer pieces in my basement.

For the moment, GMG is offering DA:I for 13% off.

Nuuvem has DA:I for something like $40 (converted) but I'm still looking for confirmation that it activates trouble-free in the US. Usually Nuuvem is good about not showing region locked stuff based on your IP but who wants the hassle if it doesn't work?

So far so good. Playing on ultra and getting 60 fps because my e-peen is bigger than all of yours. Game is quite pretty (yes, quite).

The only complaint I have (so far) is that cut scenes are locked to 30fps, which causes some stuttering. Just nitpicking, really.

I'm either blessed or cursed with the inability to notice fps rates above 30ish. I've watched videos, I've stared at .gifs that are supposed to illustrate it, etc. Sometimes if given specific instructions I can spot a tiny difference ("yes, the dust cloud from that debris collapse is slightly smoother") but I don't play games by staring intently at dust clouds anyway so my noticing it in a specially designed .gif is academic.

I'm not too picky about fps rates, but when changes cause stuttering it really ruins my immersion.

Oh, I'm not saying you aren't experiencing anything. More a general remark about fps rates. I know some people take them very seriously.

I'm going to try the fix for unlocking the cutscenes from 30FPS tonight when I get home from work. Apparently it borks multiplayer sync but I can disable for multi-player, in about 200 hours or so when I actually get around to multi-player.

I've spent about equal time trying to get Farcry 4 to download from uplay today as I spent actually playing DA: III last night, so I suppose Origin gets the leg up in the "not steam" gaming DDR application-thing.

I might have just solved this at lunch by turning of post processing. I'm not seeing the stutter now. The framerate did not bother me just the stutter. Will test more after work.

Watching this as I wait for the last bit of the game to download.

If somebody already posted this three pages ago, nuts to them.
