E3 started today and I have been hearing that SOE was gonna have EQOA there. Was anyone there and get to see what EQOA will have next or hear anything?

So far havent seen any information the only thing being advertised is EQ2 for game listings there eqoa and eq seem to be just tagging along for the ride.

At this time i dont see expansions or a new game in the near future or they would be advertising this game to make people aware and make frontiers availble to buy. Once you see frontiers on store shelves and the soe website then we will know something is going to happen.

nothing new was released for EQOA... but EQ2 is getting not 1, but 2 expansions by the end of this year..

http://www.e3insider.com/images/?type=screenpax&articleID=49PRMUM90B

it kinda gets me pissed off that the PC guys get all this content and we are stuck with (what seems to be) a few guys working weekends on updates...

Why not switch to EQ for the PC?
Well, I did try a new demo I got for the PC before, and I just couldn't find myself using a keyboard to control my character..
And for the fact that I got over 3 years devoted into EQOA, it just dont seem to make sense to switch to another game.

I mean come on guys.. excuse my language... but this is ********* We are playing a 3 year old game.. its time for a damn update.

It doesnt even take long to think about what we need... Give us an expansion for the PS3.. make it like 3 times bigger than our world now.. Make it for PS3/PC.. The game will thrive, not just survive if we got PC player included. And of course let all of us "loyal" and "faithful" frontiers players move our characters over to it.. it is an expansion.. whats it going to hurt if less than 10,000 players get a little head start in a MMORG that will have well over 100,000 of players.. millions after a few years if its really good.

These are the numbers of players we will actually have in our game if PC players get involved with us.. not just a few thousand total that still play this game.

Well the only thing I can say now for an expansion for EQOA: Better luck next year.. if we're still here..

You do realize that the PC market for games and MMOs in particular is extremely huge. Surely you understand why they get more attention. $$$=attention spent.

Computers are far better for gaming than consoles. If it bothers you so much, pick up a controller for the PC. I'm not against EQOA even though I don't play anymore. I even thought about dusting off my account and leveling my Ranger for a bit. Consider this. Sony is gearing up for the release of their PS3. EQ and EQ2 make Sony tons of money. Stands to reason that EQOA will get something when they get around to it. EQOA is no longer a priority for SOE.
You did however just get class balancing which I honestly don't feel would've happened if SOE were ready to give up on this game yet.

That does make alot of sense... alot of the supposed changes (level cap and cm cap raised and new zone) are all things that will be added to the preexisting disk. I think that alot of the new changes; class balancing, wh qsts,60 epics and a new zone (i hope) are a way to keep us from leaving until they get around to a new game. If I remember correctly it took some time for the first EQ to come to ps. Id expect it to be that long before the we see a new EQ for PS3.

Just a correction, EQ2 is only released info on one more expansion at E3. The other is an adventure pack, wich is not the same thing. it will have a dungeon that will probably be forgotten after 2 months and some new items, and if they were not free I wouldnt even bother getting them.

I do agree it is a shame EQOA wasted the time and money to go to E3 and not release any news. They could of been working and finishing the balancing instead of partying.

I can't remember where, but I read somewhere (I think on Gamespot.com) that the potential market for console gameing is WAY higher than the potential market for PC gameing. As in, if WoW to be on the PS2 it would have a way bigger market of potential customers than any PC MMO. It's just that SOE sucks, and doesn't know what they are doing. They had a GREAT MMO on the PS2 with serious potential for possibly haveing one million active players (or more!), but they just didn't handle it right. It's not that the PC MMO's have potentially more customers, it's that they do have more customers, and they pay more; they are a reliable fan base, that SOE knows how to suck the money out of.

You know that is only true because consoles are more affordable then computers right? And ive played a few other Ps2 online games and boy are they immature...almost like WoW players :P

PC's still have the most potential. People with pc's are more likley to have an ISP, I know a lot of people who had ps2's and no ISP. Yes I know people with pc's and no ISP, but the number is much smaller.

Titi, you really are retarded. PCs have more potential because they're more upgradeable and thus, more and more system intensive games can be made. With consoles you have to wait until a new one comes out to upgrade. Look at EQ2, there isn't even a PC yet that can play that game to it's full potential, much less a console. PC gaming>console gaming period.

I was disappointed not to hear any news on EQOA at E3 either, but hey like mentioned above at least they are still working on it. If it was a dead horse it never would of been worked on in the first place.

Gaming is better on PC vs Console, but give me the ease of use and a level playing ground of the console any day.
Also for the Game to succeed they would need to do what FFXI did. Which is multiplatform launch. That is the only way for a game to truly succeed well beyond its years. I'm not knocking EQOA because I'm back and playing it but the fact is that sony will have to wait until the PS3 that includes the HDD in order to launch on there and most likely do the same as FFXI did which is make it available for all systems. Just my thoughts on it. As in transferring toons, I don't think that ever really would happen. Most likely they would relaunch and make a brand new EQOA2 for the PS3 and Xbox360 or just call it EQ2 or EQ3.

Just my thoughts on it. Of course this all based off my own opinions and most of this is not factual.

I talked with the EQOA people at SOE briefly at one of the floor machines. They are bringing out a new zone for EQOA and are still keeping it updated. They seemed amenable to sending up some updated information so that we can get our EQOA database up to date. With the new network going, I am hoping to get a permanant EQOA person again, as Haggan basically abandoned this site.

So Alla Did they give a time table on this. Not to be a pest but that would be awesome.

And on another subject how often are they in contact with you? Cause honestly I come here instead of the actual EQ forums.

So was this the big huge new thing coming up?

Well thanks for the update and the great site.

At least now you can get the game and cards from the main site but for how long who knows.

It also may cost more, but the multi-game cards work for EQOA. They are the cards that are good for EQ, EQ2 and the other SOE games, they just left eqoa off the list, but they work according to the devs.

anyone want to bring up the subject of, will eqoa transfer to the ps3. I personally think the whole thing will be scrapped for the new system. With the competition on the ps3 for mmo's I think they will have to go above and beyond and could do just that.

well right now there is no competition for a PS3 mmo. With sony sending the developing kits out late, and the time it takes to adjust to a new system, even if they do bring out a new MMO it would just be a preetier eqoa.
