And actually to have a contest for members is not illegal. Member based promotions and special offers is 100% legal in the eyes of the law. You need to either go back to a better law school or stfu and not post about things you do not know.
Oh no, rate me into oblivion, LOL, ****** geek!
My understanding is that you can not hold a contest that requires a purchase. A contest on a pepsi can, or at McDonalds, doesn't matter. If your ever bored while eating your big mac during a monopoly game, read the fine print. You can mail them and request a free game piece. Although technically that requires you to purchase a stamp though huh?
The comparison was made between a private club. That's understood, if a group of people in a club house are advertising a contest for it's members, that's one thing, but when it's advertised on the main page of a public web site, that seems a little different. Kind of like if McDonalds next monopoly game had big signs in the window advertising corvettes and cash prizes, but then you found out you had to be a member and pay a yearly fee. Maybe they'd include you though Darkandsinfull, seeing as how your probably still a member of the Ronny McD B-Day club. Why do I picture you as Special Ed from Crank Yankers, Yaaaaaayyyyyyy!!!!
I own a business, and from my understanding in the past having run promotions, you can not in any way require a purchase for a chance of winning.
I was curious, and posted, what the *** was I thinking trying to get an actual intelligent response from this community.
I don't go, never did go to law school, that's why I asked *** stick.
LMFAO at *** hat #2, til we rate you into oblivion.... You guys are almost as tough as those big bullies in the assylum.
...quivers...
