I was invited to a group by Wviceman on marr's fist server (he's a 49 war) also in the grp were souperman (some bard) and a 46 drd like ariesta or somethin like that... so we were going to kolboks and i used my hotkeys saying that i will loot... the drd said no im looting so i said imo the healer shouldnt loot for the tank coz they should always be locked on the healer just in case of a bad pull... next thing i know im booted from the group and i send wviceman a tell saying WTH he said ur a rude person and i'd never wanna group with someone as rude as or or some bs like that...

Another statistic. The whole "get in line" thing kinda comes to my mind- Like at the end of Beetlejuice, when he's in the waiting area and he has number 132762534762 or something and they are "now serving #4".

yes well...after reading your post, i think you might be the one wearing the noob panties, buddy.

what possesses you to go into a group of ppl you dont know anything about, and start ordering them around as if you were the shuffleboard co-ordinator? of course they were offended.

and on top of that, someone who insists so vehemently on looting for the group likely has an agenda of his/her own.

Here is a way that I use when grouping...

me: Hi!
them: Hi, Hey, hello!
me: Where to?
them: {whatever}
Me: OK
Me: ML?
Them: ???
Me: Master Looter?
Them (or one of them): I will for U!
Me: Don't ***** me plz
Them: LOL, no worries

All is happy in grouping land!

I used to loot for Dark :)

There's nothing wrong with a healer looting. I don't really like to unless I know and trust the tank because if **** hits the fan, I don't want to be locked on a corpse. Luckily I have a group heal. But then that makes the mob go QUICK KILL THE HEALER NOW SHE JUST DID 4000 POINTS OF DAMAGE TO ME EVEN THOUGH SHE DIDN'T CUZ SHE'S HEALING HER PARTY BUT I THINK IT'S ME SO RAAAAAAAA DIE!!!!

F that.

But Dark I trusted very much. And I am sad that he is no more. :(

I personally feel that a melee or caster should be ML, but whatever a group wants to do should be respected by the ENTIRE group.

Get'm Nursie .... but serious ... when I grp I get that looting business out of the way, esp if the grp is off the beaten track and I have to coach out.
If someone says need before greed, i just drop - no questions asked. If I get a tell msg asking why, I just reply, "that was the wrong answer" Unless we work it out, I just move long. also applies if we get the looting business out of the way and people get greedy and then it turns into a free for all, I leave.
I think everyone has their role to play. Its very childish to hoard all the goods when everyone has something at the table (weapons to repair, drinks to buy; ect)

ooook, i smell some BS....oh wait! hes jaydeo! thats it! nmuk knew it!

i always loot, its understood. healer loots for tank.

tank gets stax

i split up the other stax to the DDs and i keep any gems unless they were claimed.

its not a good idea to get into a group and order them around, i dont blame them for booting you. and your WTF?!?!? tell was totally gay. i wouldnt give a **** and a half. he was rite, ordering everyone around isnt the way to do stuff.

Idc who loots for my tank. Usually the healer does to keep him active. (most healers get a bit bored after a long grind, gives them something to do :p) It takes litteraly seconds to get to the loot screen, loot all, and retarget on tank. Even if he pulls a few adds he should be fine, and the healer probably was able to loot and retarget the tank before he has even returned to the camp. (depending on camp. DFC has short pulls, minos have long pulls as an example.) You sound like a noob yourself.

I also agree with Murrun on this comment.

You should ask if you are needed to ML. If they so no, drop it, because if you were the last one invited into group, they probably were already xp'n before, and lost one of their DD's and invited you, meaning they already have a MLer. And even if the group just started, the tank gets to pick the MLer. If a friend is usually in group, or guildie, I would pick them to ML for me, not a random person I dont know.

Remember ABC looting (aka Totally ***** Over the Tank Looting)? Ah, Memooorieeeeessss...

You know what, a good barometer of how well a new group will work together will be that initial discussion of ML designation. If the tank asks who will ML and everyone's response is, "Oh, I don't care, I'll do it if I have to or if no one else wants to," typically that group will do very well. However, if one person absolutely insists on MLing, even before the topic comes up, I will usually excuse myself from the group. I don't care how long I have been waiting or how long I think it'll be before I find another group, that numbnuts will usually cause more harm than good during the xp session. This is also the person, who if he is coming in on a preestablished group, immediately advises that he is a armor-, jewel-, and weaponsmith and will require the gems for such. I'm sorry, we have to boot you for somebody, umm, I don't know, likeable. Good luck with raping your next group! See ya!

Thalasal, usually, people who seem greedy to ML, may not always look for personal benifits. I as a tank, let em ML for me, once about 30 mins into the grind (about the time im finally oom) i rest, drink for mana, and ask the MLer for all stacks he has atm. If he seems to give me all of the stacks, I'll just let rm keep MLn for me, but if it seems im being a ripped off of stacks, i'll leave group, if i am leader, i boot, or if the leader of the group will boot them. When i am on my mage, i appear to be wanting to ML very bad, yet, I dont rip the tank off of any stacks or anything. So the assumption of a greedy MLer may not always be right.

Edit: misspelled Thalasals' name.

I have only been ripped off twice, I am a very trusting player, it has burned me, but it has also gotten me a long buddy list. I guess I am going to have to start an alt on one of your guy's servers so I can group with the people I talk to everyday on here... if they will have me.

It happens, some tanks tell who they want to ml, just because they know that person will not take loot and run. So, maybe it was a group that new each other and thought u were being too bossy. Its hard to find good groups, so i recommend that u just go with the flow bro. Keep your cool and u will be fine.

Absolutely golf, make an alt on PPO. I've got characters ranging from 13-33 on it.

i totaly disagree with quote. he went in and started ordering an established group. id have booted too. the group needs cooperation not orders. Never been a group where one person was giving orders, unless we were questing for an item, and even then it was more in the nature of advice. the healer should be the ml, he has, as a rule, very few other functions in a group other then buffing (if the class applies) and healing. As far as being locked on a target if something goes bad. well with a tank that knows what their doing and isnt just a ploob, That rarley happens, and if it does, a well formed group with players who know their class and abilities should have no problem pulling themselves out of it.

Cool! I will be a Warrior, because it is what I know best so far in this game.

It would be nice to group with someone I know (sort of) for a change.

well i have had my healer for some time now and i am looter mostly, but i'd rather have some one else loot for safty if grp...what I mean is that i have tank targeted all the time, but when i m looking for corpse and tank pulls 2 or 3 we dont have enuff time for me to target tank and cast heal,so it is just better if i have tank targeted all the time that way if he pulls too many we are ok...

that's Kas btw, I know with similar avatars it gets confusing. I cannot make any new characters on PPO cause I'm full. Like I said though I have levels 13, 15, 16, 19, 2 20s, 23, and a 33.
Classes are in the same order as the levels, Rogue, Ranger, Druid, Cleric, Mage & SK, Warrior, and A Pallie. So, if you wanna start new characters you can. Grab yourself a few levels and then things are cake. Infact just about everyone of my characters has a quest to do besides Druid, Cleric, Warrior, and Pallie.
