Aaaaaand.... Master Architect. Woo.

I trained in Novice Artisan, and have spent the last 2 days purchasing 2 BER 9 mineral Harvesters, and questioning various people as to what all I'm supposed to be doing... I worried about powering them, but later found some wind power plants for 2000 each. Problem is, with 2 hours of surveying on Dantooine, the highest concentration of wind I found was 50%, and that was way up in the mountains, can't place anything. I can't believe I loved this game so much 3 days ago and am so frustrated now. I don't suppose anyone who found themselves in a similar situation can offer any assistance in the forum of suggestions or info?

My suggestion... stop holo grinding.

It's probably the worst thing that ever happened to the game. Plus, at this point, it isn't likely you will pop your Jedi before they stop allowing holo Jedi to appear anyways.

Let me put things in perspective for you ...

I am working the holo grind and I pulled Bounty Hunter. After a couple of weeks of grinding through the weapons trees I finally can do missions, which gives me a whopping 150xp per. But wait, after a couple days solid of grinding I can now do the higher missions and get 300xp per mission, so now, it will only take me a week or so to get through the rest of the profession!

Total time = about a month

A buddy of mine ground through Architect in 4 hours.

You have no room to complain.

I suggest you just buy low quality resources, and grind out i think.... walls.

You might just wanna sit tight until the new Jedi system is out.... that was supposed to come out in patch 8!

2. the jedi change isnt coming until 9 and 10

Trade ya. My first holo was Master Bio Engineer. That was originally in Nov or Dec before the Christmas gifts. Then I dropped it in mid Jan. Then re started it in Mid Feb and now I'm at level III of all the trees. Just need 80k times 3 plus 80k DNA. Ugh. Another month or so and I can get to My second holo.
Come on Squad leader. Or some other easy grind.

Well, I did some surveys and placed 3 wind power stations last night, I'm fixing to login and see what I got... Hopefully this Darenkanefradistileascertiminifide (Or whatever "Wind Power" is called) will work to power my mineral dealies. I guess I felt kinda overwhelmed by all the different numbers and such, but it's actually not too bad, though the best concentration of wind I found in 2 hours of surveys was about 40%... But at 2000 credits a pop, several more power stations wouldn't be too bad.

Oh, by the way...
I'm a novice in about 6 different professions. Now if I opened a holo that was about to say "Scout" and I had already started, I think I read that it would say "Continue on your current path." Considering all those professions I have that are a bit handy but that I don't intend to master (Medic), I'm a little worried that might happen. Unless I have it wrong (I hope) and the thing would still tell me.

I thought long and hard about starting Holos, but as I understand it, this big Droid publish was fairly recent, right? I'd imagine the new Jedi Path will take a lot of work, and be buggy as snot, etc. I read somewhere that we might not see it till September. Plus they'll probably compensate us, and it gives me a certain lift to be at the beginning of my path to Jedi.

Wind is always low - about 50 is okay. Same with ore you won't find much above 60. You will need lots of ore - either to build walls or to build statues (lots resources & exp for a single combine but slightly less exp per resource). The wind moves like other resources, will change name but just means you can't stack the new with old - all feeds into the harvesters together though. Two BER9 wind should supply at least 6 med harvestors. Use swgcraft.com to follow resource shifts. Read the architect board esp sticky up the top for hologrinders.

Don't use wind or solar use fusion. After my buisness was running on automatic I bought all my power and resorces. But you are not there yet. If you have deep pockets buy the resorces you need for grinding or hire someone to supply the resorces you need. If you must do the harvesting yourself start with 1 fusion, 8 medium or large extractors of the appropriate types. That leaves 1 lot for a small naboo house to set up a crafting station and a place to put your resorces. If you don't have any survey skills then definately hire a surveyer to do it for you.

Since you are grinding to achieve a goal you will soon throw away, you don't have to get the best quality resorces.

For pitty sakes don't grind the long way, use the crafting macros and save your fingers, mouse and will power alot of pain.

I hope this helps to get you started and good luck. Atleast its a crafting profession you have to do.

Gee, Algren, if somebody peed in your cornflakes, just pour another bowl...

I was asking for help with Architect, the only thing about my original post that involves the Jedi path is the reason I'm doing Architecture...

Also, I've been trying to get a macro to work for crafting... It involves having 3 assembly kits that I can cycle between to avoid delays. 3 macros call each other at the end, and cycle through all the kits, the last one starting the macro again. I've been using variations on this structure:

/ui action toolbarslot##; (Open the kit)
/selectDraftSchematic #; (Pick the right thing to make)
/pause 5; (Let things catch up)
/nextCraftingStage; (I have tried with both 2 and
/nextCraftingStage; 3 of these lines)
/nextCraftingStage;
/createPrototype Practice noitem; (I have seen 2 versions of this
/createPrototype Practice noitem; command, "noitem"/"no item")
/pause 5;
/ui action toolbarslot##; (Next kit)

I've tried several different capitalizations, checked spelling, tried different numbers of /nextCS, and also "noitem" vs "no item" in those last two lines. What ends up happening is I get no messages for several seconds while the pauses work through, then I get 2 lines that say "Crafting session ended!" and no exp. I'm almost to Engineering III as I can slam these out fairly quickly by hand, but it would be cool to automate. I've been able to afford the 2 BER 9 mineral extractors, one doing ore, and one doing Iron (Found a nice 89% iron spot :) ). I plan to add more later, as this is all I can afford, but my 6k worth of wind generators are providing power to spare, I see no reason to spend 160k on a big honking BER 14 Fusion power plant. I am starting to really enjoy crafting though. Any help with this macro would be appreciated. :)

You only need two next crafting stage lines. I beleive the macro guide here for doing the Advanced bio effect controllers has all the correct caps and such. Make sure you are not near a crafting staion.

Try this one:

This can all be done with 3 macros and several crafting kits. the method here is almost the same. have one macro that is set to cycle through all the crafting tools you use <i used 10 of them> using the /ui action toolbarSlot## with a pause then have it activate your schematic macro, then have it pause for 5 seconds, then have it select your 3rd macro that will have the /nextCraftingStage commands in it just like written above. an example would be:

macro 1:
/selectDraftSchematic01

macro 2:
/nextCraftingStage;/nextCraftingStage/nextCraftingStage;/createProtoType practice no item;/createProtoType practice no item

macro 3:
/ui action toolbarSlot03;/pause 2;/ui action toolbarSlot00;/pause 5;/ui action toolbarSlot01;/pause 1;/ui action toolbarSlot04;/pause 2;/ui action toolbarSlot00;/pause 5;/ui action toolbarSlot01;/pause 1;/ui action toolbarSlot05;/pause 2;/ui action toolbarSlot00;/pause 5;/ui action toolbarSlot01;/pause 1;/ui action toolbarSlot06;/pause 2;/ui action toolbarSlot00;/pause 5;/ui action toolbarSlot01;/pause 1;/ui action toolbarSlot07;/pause 2;/ui action toolbarSlot00;/pause 5;/ui action toolbarSlot01;/pause 1;/ui action toolbarSlot08;/pause 2;/ui action toolbarSlot00;/pause 5;/ui action toolbarSlot01;/pause 1;/ui action toolbarSlot09;/pause 2;/ui action toolbarSlot00;/pause 5;/ui action toolbarSlot01;/pause 1;/ui action toolbarSlot10;/pause 2;/ui action toolbarSlot00;/pause 5;/ui action toolbarSlot01;/pause 1;/ui action toolbarSlot11;/pause 2;/ui action toolbarSlot00;/pause 5;/ui action toolbarSlot01;/pause 1;/ui action toolbarSlot12;/pause 2;/ui action toolbarSlot00;/pause 5;/ui action toolbarSlot01;/pause 1;/ui action toolbarSlot02

with this macro setup put macro 1 in toolbarSlot00, put macro 2 in toolbarSlot01, macro 3 in toolbarSlot02, and put a crafting tool in toolbarSlot03, 04, 05, 06, 07, 08, 09, 10, 11, 12. you may need to adjust the pauses to fit your needs, but other than that it will work about the same way as the previous macro written above but this will take up much fewer macros to be made.

PS. I did not wright this. I found it in the crafting section of Allakhazam.

BTW you don't want to do this standing close to a public crafting station. Get a droid or a home based crafting station. And I don't think you get any messages indicating you gain exp. Last time I played it was silent.

All these macros do is set up an assembly line. You do have to pick the raw materials or sub components but atleast you dont have to keep pushing next,next,next,next.... untill you get carpal tunnel syndrom.

Also to gain exp you have to craft something complex. The higher the complexity of the item the more EXP you make. Find the middle ground, some of the highly complex items would be impractical to grind with. Picking the right grinding item is a decission only you can make.

It may take a bit of doing to set up the macros. But when you do you will kick your hiny for getting to lev 3 the long way. Lev 3 should have taken 1 hour 2 hours tops.

I found that instead of hitting "next" you can just push enter... So with the right schematic selected it's just "Push button for kit, enter, double click resource pile a few times, enter, enter, wait a second, enter, enter, enter" not so bad, and I can do it pretty fast.
