Considering rejoining SWGFollow

Publish 8 looks like the patch that will bring me back to SWG. However, I do have some questions.

* This may not sound like an important game stopping issue for most but it was the game stopper for me. Prior to my canceling my account, the devs removed the ability to colorize the text of crafted items. This made organizing factory runs a headache (literaly). It also made it dificult to see exactly what was on the vendors at a glance. Was this put back in?

*Before I left, even the best armor would just kill you, rendering armor pointless. Is this still the case?

*This may be addressed in publish 8. Can incap/death happen if mind =0? I never understood the logic behind the HAM system when all 3 bars were considered life bars and 1 of them being un healable. It kinda ruind the game in a laughable manner.

*Has the capacity of the house been adjusted to make more sense. Example a large house could only hold 200 items *BUZZ WRONG* loads of space with not much capacity to work with.

*does the water still look like colored ice? Visual impact is important to me.

*From week to week I had no idea whether or not I was going to be able to use a pet or what I was going to be able to do with them or how many I could have, ect. Has the rules regarding pets been finalized?

I could point out many stupid things in what you just said, but I will not do that. Instead I am just going to say: Please play the game more than one week before you dump it! If you did'nt unterstand a thing as simple as the HAM bars, you could'nt have been playing for long before you quit. They stuff you pointed out is mostly the same, but they are god as they are.

You seem to be one that doesn't understand HAM bars Erictum. Let me explain. When SWG launched, someone could incap you if they were able to reduce your Health, Action, or Mind to zero. Of course, once you were incapped, then a DB was all that was left.

This meant that adjusting your HAM bars to your style of play was not as effective as setting your HAM bars to a more balanced setting to eliminate a weakness in one of your pools.

So what the original poster wants to find out is if this is still the case. I can't answer conclusively since my account is no longer active.

Now if the system has changed and you have only been playing since after said change then I understand how you would not be aware of the issue.

i haven't got the game yet, and im slightly confused about the ham bars.

when you get one of them to 0 your incapacitated. so your dead?
or do you get up after a few seconds or do you lay there and if someone hits you, you die?

No, that's basically the same as it is now. You can adjust your stats however you like, but if any pool hits 0, you're incapped.

How else could it be that would make any sense though? I hear they are adjusting how often we can use specials, so that will have an impact on how severely a particular pool can be targeted.

I think most people, like I did, would have thought that when your action or mind pool got to zero, you would just be unable to perform any specials that required those pools. Thus making people with high health actually tougher to kill :-o

You said the water looks like ice? Do you have an Nvidia card? My husband has one and that's how his water looks. I have an ATI card and my water looks real - you can see the plants and rocks underwater and there is reflection off the top.

I guess you need a new card. Smiley: grin

I played the first 6 month of what I loveingly call payed beta. IMHO the game wasn't ready for a free beta (which was totaly skipped).

My understanding of the HAM and how it works is impecable. However my understanding behind its logic will forever elude me. All 3 bars being life bars makes no sense whatsoever. Reducing Helth should be the only logical way to kill someone. ZorkPig knows what makes sense.

To answer DarthN, You incap first, then if your opponent, PC or NPC, chooses to do so he/she can walk up to you and death blow you. They can't do a ranged death blow, they must be in melee range to do it. The length of incap seemed to be determined by how negative the depleated HAM went. Another thing 3 incaps is insta death.

When I played, I was running quite a large pharmacutical opperation specializing in pet products. I made millions and spent millions keeping 6 factories and 5 stores on 5 planets running (2 accounts). That was when I was able to color code the item names. After removing the ability to colorize the text, organizing such a large opperation quickly became confusing and a whole lot like work. The white on white text was realy hard to read. So I shut down opperations and left the game completely disgusted with the knee jerking reactions of the games management. I guess item text still can't be colored?

Ya my vid card is an NVidia.

I'll ask again after beta 8, err.. revision 8.

the 3 bars represent different types of damage you can take. different professions do different types of damage. your specials pool is determined by the ham bar your chosen profession attacks. ie: pistoleer deals health damage, specials come frome that pool. carbineers hit action, riflemen hit mind that is where their respective specials come from.
riflemen, by the way, can kill you from ranged distances, it is called snipe shot.
and you have to get killed 3 times in ten minutes to die from over incapacitation.
no item text is still white. they changed it because people were coloring the text, and then putting the item on the bazaar. it causes your colored text item to appear at the top no matter where it would fall alphabetically.
yeah i have an ATI radeon 9600 pro. my water looks like real water, it's sweet, only reason i upgraded my video card.
