Oh, hey! February already? Since the change occurs during the weekend, I'll go ahead and get this posted to maybe jog your memories and hear some tales of how your weekend went.

WoW: I've been having a weekend since mid December, so I'm a bit casual about setting "weekend" goals right now. I finally managed to get time added to my newer account with most of my WoD toons and I'm hoping to get the 100s a bit better geared before the next round of raids hit LFR. Yes, I know it is a dirty habit, but once the semester hits, I'm not going to be able to do many of our 8 pm raids. I'll let the young guys progress without having to drag me through the hoops. I get the impression it is unfashionable, but I'm still amused with garrisons and such as well.

RL: Things have been busy with Tyger. Spring Festival is creeping up on us and she's getting ready for the trip back to Guangdong. I was invited to go along this year but bowed out because I wanted her to have time with her daughter and to do the family memorials for her grandmother. At the same time, it was going to be awkward to board the cat, and I need to be able to get ready for the new semester. <.< Amazingly, it still looks like I'll be getting married this year.

Here's hoping that the RNGods toss you a bone that's a bit juicier than some of the dried out ones in the salvage boxes!

Survived surgery monday and had a pretty crappy week. My plan is to park my keester on the couch or computer chair and relax, the wife wants to drag me places, will see who wins...

From last update: Made level 100 on my paladin and almost maxed out my garrison, started heroics and finally have the item level for LFR. Hunter is sitting at 95 waiting for my wife to play. Started a rogue and sitting at 35 or 36 right now, the LFG's really boost the levels pretty quickly for now.

Goals - try out a few LFR's and keep leveling my rogue, shooting for close to 60 if I can play that long...

Saturday morning on this side of the planet. Time to dig in and eke out some advancements!

WoW: I'm pretending that there is a chance that the holiday mount *might* drop, so I've been cranking through SFK on six toons. I want to get my last three 90s on my main server to at least the point that they're stockpiling garrison supplies, I may take a stab at moving one of them along later today.

@Kronig
Glad to hear that you survived! It has been a bit since I did the grind to Outland, but somewhere around the 40s you might want to do some of the quests that award trinkets. I think Dark Moon Faire is open, so you'll have a chance at the buff and some easy XP.

RL: I'm going to ding 55 tomorrow, that puts me five years past my expiration date. Tyger wasn't sure if she'll be able to break free, so she had me go over to her side of Beijing for hotpot. She got an engagement ring for me!

Time to swill more coffee and reset garrisons. May the RNG smile on you!

@Rhodekylle
Thanks for the well wishes, was a minor procedure but a major nuisance. Will look into the faire if it is still going on tonight. Congrats on the birthday and the engagement ring!

I won the battle with my wife and we did pretty much nothing all weekend much to her complaining.

WoW - RNG smiled upon me and ran the first 3 raids and received 4 pieces of gear, need a weapon pretty severely and not having luck in heroics either. Played my hunter to 98.4'ish with my wife and hit 42 with my Rogue last night, did not get as far as I wanted to with him but I just hate the 40 instances, will have to do some quests to break up the boredom.

RL - relaxed and cleaned, it was a good weekend!

Well - Its Friday the 13th go adopt a black cat, they are great companions!

Gaming - hit 100 on my hunter so will start work on gearing and do the usual rep/garrison/crystal grinds. LFR runs with paladin to hopefully get a few more pieces to move up to the next tier of raids.

RL - friend coming over tonight, valentines plans of fishing with the wife tomorrow and then step-daughter has a date that we have to be present for (15 year olds). Sunday is either R&R or visiting family for goofing around.

Hope all have a good weekend

@Kronig -- Thanks!

We're in the last moments of the run up to Spring Festival here. I'm chiming in a bit late because I've been running around stockpiling stuff from stores that will be closing for the holiday. The big stores will stay open, although on reduced hours for a few days, but I try to do most of my shopping at smaller local places.

WoW: I'm looking forward to the Valentine's Day holiday ending. Six toons, daily runs, still no mount. Sigh, well, at least Headless' horse dropped for one of my accounts this year. Smiley: oyvey Someday ...

RL: Tyger made it back home and is getting everything in order for Spring Festival. We'll be doing our big Valentine's Day routine for the Chinese version Qixi, but she was up before 5 this morning to make sure I'd wake up to her messages.

Oh hey, I resubbed. So there's that Smiley: lol

Up to level 93 on my Druid so far, still trying to get a handle on the class changes, stat squish, etc. Loving the storylines so far, but I've only completed Shadowmoon Valley and pushed a bit past getting my Gorgrond Outpost. Garrison (and especially followers) seems really REALLY neat, but a lot of the fun stuff is locked for a few more levels. I'm liking the changes to rare spawns (they're EVERYWHERE!), although if I understand correctly you only get to loot them once before they just become normal spawns again? That's kind of a shame, as I loved farming rare spawns before. But it also means less competition, so I guess it's all good.

I find myself in the dark, but in a good way. Will I ever get to fly in Draenor? I don't think so. What were multistrike and versatility? I looked them up and understand the concepts, but not stat distribution values. What happened to several of my abilities? I guess Swipe was rolled into Thrash... Hibernate, Nature's Grasp, and Maim (on my Guardian bear) were all removed. I wouldn't trust my bear to tank right now, but every question has been a breeze except for my first Garrison invasion (where I died once... oops). Looking forward to playing more... but foolish me, I signed back up the same day I signed up for a Kaplan course to study for the GMAT. Both that course and my playtime are 90 days... you can guess which one is winning my attention Smiley: glare

A trifle early, but ... Happy Year of the Sheep/Goat/Ram! Get out there and enjoy the Lunar Festival, even with the push to hold down fireworks to keep the air breathable tonight is apt to be wild and the next couple of weeks a constant barrage.

@LockeColeMA Welcome back, have fun! Yes, the rare spawns are now part of hunting treasures. The good news is that there are addons that will make it easier to find things. Between treasures and the quests that spawn as you visit different areas it all adds up to a good XP boost. If Kaplan tends to eat your time, that's a good excuse for boosting a few alts so that you can take advantage of the rest to stock Garrison Resources (GR). That can help feed you XP potions (100GR from your garrison inn keeper) when you do have time to play.

WoW: Another year, another futile attempt at the holiday mount. Smiley: disappointed Ah, well, at least we got new pets! I'm taking my own advice and I've got all but one of the 90s on my main server into their respective starting area. Most have gotten the garrison to level 2 and are able to quietly stockpile stuff to feed professions and wait for their day in the spotlight. Smiley: laugh It will be interesting to see how things change when 6.1 is released -- the 24th if I recall correctly.

RL: BOOM! That sums up the next couple of weeks, lots of explosions. Here's hoping we don't hit 700 AQI again. It isn't as bad as it used to be, more businesses stay open now, but many of the smaller places will be closed for the next ten days or so.

Good luck, everyone!

The fireworks have been more low key this year, and the air has managed to stay no worse than usual for a Beijing winter -- no 700 AQI days!

WoW: I spent the weekend filling in followers and finishing important quest chains. I should have everyone decently set up for the start of the new semester next month. Now, I need to make myself get holiday pets.

RL: Spring Festival is a good time to discover new restaurants. This year's discovery was that a place I'd thought was a bar is actually a Northeastern restaurant specializing in leg of lamb that is grilled at your table. Good stuff. Smiley: nod Tyger is still back home, but I've been getting regular photo updates. It looks like this time the wedding may work. Smiley: laugh
