Personally I wish blizzard would adopt Rift's loot system.

For those who haven’t played Rift you loot everything in a radius of the mob your looting with a single click. It's not a game changer but it is such a convenience that I really do miss it when I play WoW

Sub-Jobs.

Truly a great thing from FFXI. (Though to be honest - that would be such a game changer that it would probably be a game breaker.)

Sub-jobs work in FFXI because the game is designed around them and was from the start. They'd have to redesign WoW from the ground up to make that work in this game.

I mostly just want some features already available through add-ons to be built it. View the inventories/achievements/etc of your other characters, the ability to move some of the UI elements around, etc.

Another convenience in Rift is a button (on your bags, if I remember correctly) when you visit a vendor. Pressing the button will sell all of your grey junk items to the vendor at the same time. No picking through items to find the greys!

I second the aoe-loot and auto-sell features (button is on the vendor window, btw :)) from Rift. Just simple little things, but they make grinding and farming a bit more bearable.

The auto-selling of junk items can be fixed with a simple addon. I've been using one since Vanilla. It auto-sells grays the moment I open up a vendor window.

Furbolgs should be skinnable; so should Worgen and Tauren for that matter.

I don't remember ever skinning the NPC ones, I'm sorely tempted to try now though. Now if only I could farm leather in battlegrounds... Smiley: grin

Another feature I would love to see implemented would be that enchanters can create multiple vellum enchants at a time.

And I also like the public groups from WAR and Rift. Would be nice for areas like the FL daily quest hub.

And any other race with skin. I want a carpet made out of Gnome hide.

They did.

omg This! Power leveling enchanting is one of the most annoying things ever since you can't just start it up and walk away for a few minutes like you can with the other profs. Clicking over and over again is just aggravating.

I really can't think of much tbh. The only real game change mechanic I want to see is to have every spec be equally viable for pve and pvp, and that is what they claim to be doing for MoP. So I guess I just have to be patient.

I've had an add-on do that for so long I forget sometimes it's not automatic.

Other ideas I like from Rift...

Every class is a "hybrid". Although there are only 4 callings in Rift to the (soon to be) 11 classes in WoW, I can easily see Rogues getting a tanking spec, and it wouldn't be too much of a stretch for Warlocks to get something like Chloro for healing or a more permanent demon form for tanking. It might be cheesy, but mages could get something like DA:O's Arcane Warrior. No idea what to do for hunters, though.

Salvaging equipment for professions besides enchanting. A Blacksmith, for example, could get bars from salvaging plate armor and metal weapons.

Can't think of anything else at the moment.

Keep that garbage out of WoW, please.

I'd lean towards public quests from WAR.

That's another thing I miss from FFXI. In FFXI you can 'un-craft' a lot of items. You can turn cloth armor back into raw cloth and thread, plate back into ingots, bows back into lumber, etc.

In theory. In practice the crystal shatters and takes the base item with it.

Surnames would be good, but I'd settle for selective filters to augment in game perceptions. That's right, I want to be able to display all gnomes as smurfs.

Well one feature that existed in Rift (and AoC iirc) is now being implemented in WoW in a horribly cack-handed fashion.

In both those games you had an extra page to your character equipment view called "Vanity" or "Wardrobe" or the like. All you had to do was put an item in the slot on that page and that was what the world saw instead of what you actually had equipped. Simple, easy and painless. Instead we are going to get a "Transmogrification" vendor to turn it into another gold sink. And every time you change equipment you need to revisit them instead of just leaving the vanity item in its slot.

AoE looting would save time but its not a biggie. It would probably just lead to requests for AoE skinning or somesuch Smiley: smile

Personally I found the Public groups just further de-personalised Rift. The automatic mechanism made communication even more unnecessary.

This is the one thing I really don't want to see. One of the original draws, for me, was the specialization of the various classes. Personally I feel that if everyone can do everything, most people would be good at a few things instead of great at one thing.

To each his own, personally I love the current class system. I wish it it would revert to more of a main tanks and main heal classes and with utility tanks and healers in supporting roles.

Just my opinion.
