Blizzard asking classes for opinionsFollow

I honestly can't possibly imagine a WoW2. There isn't anything else for them to add/do to the game that isn't already included (unless they completely re-code the engine to have much better graphics, physics, etc). In WoW they have their own lore, talents, engine, trees, and 'balance', so they won't be doing TBC2.0 with higher res graphics or something. They have a few other licenses that they could potentially do, as well as 'Titan' whatever that is going to be.

I'd totally blow another seven years on a sequel.

You'd blow a lot of things for a sequel!

But seriously, what would they do if they released a sequel to WoW? I mean isn't each expansion effectively a sequel (in its own way)?

Titan?

May not be WoW 2.0, but would Blizzard (any company) run two MMO's side by side with the intention of continuing to run/support both as if they were both current. At some point the company must admit that MMO-1 is less sophisticated than MMO-2 and move on.

Also - Titan may not be WoW based. It could be anything. Blizzard has shown a willingness to shelve game development for years (Think SC2).

Square Enix does. Of course, one has been a complete flop for the past few years, and the other is Final Fantasy XI.

I started with FFXI, so I'm familiar with SE.

I don't think their intention was to run both. They intended to slowly phase out XI and move on to FFXIV. The problem was that 14 struggled (Read: Shat the bed) on launch.

I'm a fan of Despair.com - SE's management of the FF series is best summed up with:

If at some point they do release a WoW 2.0, it could be a jump 50/100/200 years into the future. All the major lore characters are dead, the balance of power has shifted, and the factions are aligned differently.

As for Titan, I was under the impression it was (1) not based on any current Blizzard IP, which rules out WoW2, World of Diablo, and Worlds of Starcraft; and (2) not something that would be a direct competitor with WoW. IE, maybe a MMOFPS with RPG elements, or something like that.

Except for elves. They would have no trouble living that long anyways. They're not immortal any more, but the elves still live a really long time.

It's confirmed to be a new universe, and speculated to be a MMOFPS.

I wish people would stop comparing it to anything like WoW.

I feel like I have to state this in obnoxiously large letters to get the point across and get people to stop wondering about this:

TITAN IS NOT RELATED TO WORLD OF WARCRAFT IN ANY WAY, SHAPE, OR FORM, NOR IS IT RELATED TO STARCRAFT OR DIABLO IN THE SAME MANNER.

TITAN IS A BRAND NEW INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY WITH A NEW UNIVERSE, NEW STORY, NEW CHARACTERS, AND NO RELATION TO THE OTHER THREE.

If Titan was an FPS, I don't know how I would feel about it. I mean Blizzard is great at an RPG or RTS, but they (as far as I can tell) have 0 FPS experience, seems like quite a rider for them to go out on a limb for... but they hardly fail to rise to the occasion.

On the flipside, the nice thing is they ARE stationary. Say in some fights you want to keep the totems near the melee, but range has to move. I can't recall fights off the top of my head that use this mechanic, but I know I've done them before. Being able to keep them stationary has an advantage in situations like these.

Thousands of years, iirc. But if Malfurion went back into the Emerald Dream, that just leaves Tyrande and whats-his-name for the BElfs, and neither of them have been particularly involved in WoW's in-game lore.
