Need help! Authenticator!Follow

Sorry if I am posting this in the wrong area. I have used an authenticator without much trouble since the week it first came out until now! I have an authenticator on my iPhone that seems to be working. I can view code, and it syncs as well, though when i try to log in to my account on the WoW forums of even on the real game, it claims that I have the 'Invalid information'. I have checked the password and it seems to be right, I have even changed the password! I have tried to contact blizzard but I have no CD KEY and I do not intend on going through the trouble of sending PHOTO ID.

Thanks in advance!
I hope you can help!

:D

Sounds like you changed your password while drunk or something ... I've never heard of a hacker changing the authenticator off of an account.

Sending Blizzard photo ID doesn't sound all that difficult. Sounds like an ideal alternative compared with quitting...

It takes seconds to load a photo of your driving license or passport etc.

Or search through your email inbox, if you are lucky you will still have the email from the day you registered which contains your CD Key.

Well, I have been on holiday for 2 weeks so I doubt I changed it while I was drunk :P
I guess I might send them a photo or I may just call them. Anyway, I just remembered I reset my iPhone when I updated the software so it may have disconnected from my account, any ideas on how to check if that happened or even how to fix it. :P Anyway thanks so far :D

One thing to be aware of with the IPhone app is that the application has a serial number. You should display the serial number on your working authenticator app and record it, before you have a problem. It may help you recover in a case like yours. I also record the serial number from the back sticker of any physical authenticators my family uses.

You also need to know that updating your IPhone authenticator application can change its serial number. For that reason, you should not update your authenticator application version unless you disassociate it from your battlenet account first, then reattach it when you are done. The "Update All Applications" button on ITunes can be a problem if it updates the Authenticator application.

A restore of your IPhone might help, but given you updated your OS, that probably isn't where you want to go, unless you have a backup with the new OS, but an older version of the Authenticator application.

Blizzard should be able to help if you don't get it sorted out on your own.

^^

Although, note that I've never had a problem updating the iphone app when using the appstore on my actual phone (I never update apps through iTunes).

Hopefully it is no longer a problem. Although it has been in the past.

Yes. Blizzard may ask for the serial number associated with your Battle.net Mobile Authenticator, typically to help you associate it to an account or to verify your ownership of that product.

Or just practice proper internet security and only have to fill in two fields, but the average player can't be 'trusted' with their own security.
Just sayin'
