I remember my first day in WoW. My friend had purchased the collectors edition, on his way home he dropped off an additional copy of the game that he had also bought NOT CE tho'. What the heck after installation and a minor patch or two... there I stood, a brand new Night Elf hunter. I took in the awe of my surroundings, suddenly another new player logged in beside me. We exchanged greetings, and I followed behind him to my first quest. Memories dear to me.
My fond memories range from exploring new areas, like seeing the dwarven damn from the back of a flying mount for the first time. To defeating powerful adversaries, the first time I was in a raid and we downed Ragnaros 40 people were never so happy.Truly I was glad to count myself among them.
Now the world I have grown to love faces upheaval of cataclysmic proportions. Soon the world I knew will be a memory, never to be experienced again by another new player. But with time must also come change, and with change comes new memories to be shared among friends. Looking back now questions I had then will soon be answered What lies beyond the Greymane Wall. Soon Gilneas will be able to be explored and experienced first hand. Worgen shall count themselves among the members of the alliance.
New players and old alike, will be able to experience a brand new world. New quest new questions and new mysteries await.
I consider this a moment of MMO history and I am glad to say I will be a part of it. I look forward to the forging of new friendships and new memories.
