Where are the detailed AH prices?Follow

Has Zam stopped posting AH price details, or are they just cleverly hidden? If they are no longer posted, why not?

Because it is completely server based and changes over time. It's too much to ask for a site (except, maybe, a dedicated one) to track prices on the AH. Saronite Ore alone can fluctuate from 14-25G based on stock, day and time on my server. Even if a website posted the mean or median price it went for, it still wouldn't actually be helpful.

Plus, addons like auctioneer can do a much better job and will learn about your server's economy. Plus, they can tell you how your listed price compares to other currently listed items. So if the average price for a stack of Saronite is 20G and you put it up for 15G, it'll tell you that you are quite a bit under.

More importantly, with the mobile AH coming out, you can always check the prices for yourself if you have a capable device.

Why would you do that? At least auction it for the going price on your server.

Even if people are "manipulating" the prices on your server, /those are the prices on your server/. Unless you server-transfer, you don't have access to any other market. Deal with the facts on the ground.

What an item is "worth" is exactly what a legitimate buyer will pay for it. Auctioneer will tell you that. The only thing a unified price list will tell you is if there is something that your entire server is missing, something that will change the market for that item when the information gets out on your server. And that's rare.
