I happened to come across a couple of other useful file sync tools in the past week or so.
First up:
Belvedere, which is a knock off of the Macintosh utility Hazel. This allows you to automate file management on a Windows based machine. Open source, GNU license.
Second:
Directory Sync Pro. Similar to my previous recommendation of
Copy Changed Files, this open source program will work with multiple directories simultaneously. Requires Java.
Third:
Game Save Manager. This works with a host of games (including Warcraft and many Steam games) and game related programs (like Ventrilo, Teamspeak, Logitech G-series keyboard bindings) to back up and restore their settings. This is usually the most important information besides a list of installed programs to me when I reinstall Windows for the simple reason that I store most of my other information on a separate partition or drive. Free, can use 7Zip to compress backups. <sidenote>Perhaps now I can once and for all do a proper backup of my old XP install!</sidenote>.
Mega necro edit: It's been a while but I just remembered about this to update this post, but I found quite a powerful utility by Microsoft called
SyncToy. I use this utility to synchronize my addons, WTF and screenshot folders painlessly, automatically and to multiple locations. SyncToy can synchronize two folders (the contents of both folders will be made identical), echo (new and updated files on source folder are copied to destination; renames and deletions are mirrored) or contribute (new and updated files on source are copied to destionation; renames mirrored; deletions are ignored in both folders). It can sync specific file types, which is useful for putting content locally on my HTPC. I sync my WTF and addon folders to Dropbox and contribute my screenshots to a folder on my home server.
