Has anyone heard any rumours of what Blizzard will be doing with the old-world Azeroth Tier armour? Will they be replacing them with new versions or keeping the old ones?

Given that past/future class changes will have affected the stats desirable for various classes (ie. off the top of my head neither hunters or druids would particularly value their old tier sets) I imagine they will look to revise the stats - but hopefully Blizzard will leave the look of the armour unchanged.

Or perhaps having the 'original' Tier gear will become a Feat of Strength?

I haven't heard anything about old raids disappearing or the questlines for the T0.5 going away.

Well we're returning to BWL so it's possible they might pull a T7 with the T2 (especially because most people bum that tier, especially paladins), but I'd prefer new looking sets of gear.

Blizzard did say that their intention is to make the overall theme around dragons and elements, much like they did with WotLK and Norse mythology. I suspect that they'll pretty much come out with new designs for gear, although they may well borrow from some of the previous designs. I just hope they don't just use all of the old skins, since I think a lot of the old vanilla armour looks cheesy. Like hunters that magically turned into Barney. If people aren't sure what the old raid sets look like, btw, they can check out all the dungeon & raid sets here.

Edited for clarity.

Edit #2: D'oh! Morghast is right. I just re-read the OP and had totally misunderstood the question.

I think your question is what will happen to the existing old tier gear. The closest I've heard to an answer is that all of the old armor stats will be updated to match the new stat models and that gear with screwed up stats will be fixed to have more useful stats. So, my guess is that existing old armor (both tier and regular) will be updated with new stats, procs, bonuses but will otherwise look the same as it always did.

Whether or not the tier pieces will still be obtainable has not been addressed but since they said they weren't changing any of the old instances (like they did with Ony) I would assume that it all would still be dropping from the same old places. The only exception might be the dungeon set two which has to be quested for because it's possible the chain might get irrepairably broken from the drastic changes that will happen in Azeroth since many parts of that chain are done outside of instances.

Which tier armor? You mean Tier 0 from 5-mans?

I doubt they'll change it, although some of the 5-mans are just going away completely (BRS, probably BRD as well) so anything you wanted that drops out of there may be kaput.

I haven't actually seen anything official saying that they were removing any of the old instances. What I remember from Blizzcon is that they said that rather than rework the old Blackrock instances they were going to add more instances to the area. It really didn't sound like we were going to lose BRS or BRD but just gain another raid and some 5 mans and they made a big deal over showing how the 5 mans will be accessed from the outdoor version of Nefarian's balcony.

Of course I haven't seen anything official saying they were not going to remove any so it's all really just conjecture at this point.

They said Blackrock Mountain was going to explode, destroying Nefarian's fortress. They also said that Blackrock Ascent (or Descent, can't remember) would be a combination of UBRS/LBRS and BWL. I guess they could keep the old instances there too, but I very much doubt it.

Actually, I don't remember where I heard it, but I thought I heard they were going to keep the old dungeons but modify them to be multiple segments more designed for the quicker runs people do now instead of the 3 hour runs people used to do. So maybe they'll do something like turn BRD into a three dungeon hub, one of the slave pits and arena and such, one of Shadowforge City, and one of the castle of Thaurissan, or some other split.

I remember somewhere hearing that for BRD and Mauradon, but don't quote me on it, might have been wishful thinking!

It's already implemented in Mauradon while using the dungeon finder, you can start at one of three places in the instance, purple entrance, orange entrance, and in the middle of the air near the waterfall.

I think it's a great idea because there is a fairly wide level range in that instance.
