Back in... 2004, I think, they actually had an "april fools joke" about implementing two-headed orges as a playable race - you'd level together with another player and both control one half of the ogre. To this day I think the idea is revolutionary and retardedly ******* awesome, and I'm still sad it was actually a joke. A huge load of people on the general forum agreed with me and a ********* of petition threads broke lose. I still suspect that this is the reason as to why they've ever since that year made their jokes more and more silly and unbelievable - so people wouldn't get upset that it was fake.

I remember one April Fool's when blizz posted the attunement required to get into one of the new dungeons. There were like 30 steps to finally get the key for the said new dungeon.
I had a RL friend who was in a raiding guild at the time. He saw the list of stuff required and I guess he sent a bit of hate mail Blizz's way along with the rest of his guild.
I ROFL-ed the next day when Blizz came out and said 'gotcha'.
