So, finally, after all this damn farming I got to do the Quel'Delar quest chain and have to say I had a blast. Took a couple of hours (I wasn't rushing) and found myself really enjoying the quests for a change. Easily on par with Wrathgate in my opinion. Normally quests are just a means to an end and I don't generally give the stories too much of a read. Quick glance is often good enough. But this time I actually read the emotes, speeches, and quest texts. I didn't actually research the quests like I normally would before setting out. So I went in fresh which really added some of that old-time exploration feel to it. Just like back in the day when I loathed Thottbot so much that I refused to go there anymore.
Predictable storyline in some ways of course, but lore lovers will have a blast and even the more jaded folks among us should find it pretty entertaining if for only the locations (no spoilers!). Especially one location that very few people have gotten to see. Hint: it's perty.
Anyway, just wanted to see if anyone else enjoyed this quest chain as much as I did. Or really any quest chain. It's easy to forget that there's a story here when we get all wrapped up in "how much xp/gold" or gear rewards that quests have. I found it rather refreshing to take my time on this one and not just speed through it. Glad I did.
What, if anything, took you out of the "gamer" mindset and put you "in the game," even for just a moment?
Side note: To top of my "new shiny" euphoria I decided to pop into a heroic as DPS, got into a HoR run and was HORRIFIED to see my sub-1k deeps..... should have leveled up 2-hand swords at some point. =(
DOH!

) I would've liked to have seen a sword-looking mace called "Quel'Delar", because Hammer of Purified Flame doesn't have the same ring to it.
