I picked no, I guess partly for your spam reasons, since it's true my FB friends could care less about WoW. But mostly I just wouldn't publicly tie my WoW characters to my real name or other personal stuff.

And yeah, FB isn't supposed to be "public" but we all know those ba$tards can't be trusted. I don't even list my home city on my Facebook profile. If you don't know me well enough to know, you don't need to know. Paranoid, or desperately clinging to the illusion that I'm interesting enough to stalk?

Same as teacake, I'm not interested in posting my every little thing done in WoW, I mean the armory itself already tells of my misdeeds / work for those that know my toons and want to look em up. But I'm not volunteering info with my real name tied to my characters, just seems it would decrease security that little bit more. Oh look ToonPally40 belongs to "John Smith" if we get an account with ToonPally40 we have the owners real name... and depending on your security settings city, birthdate... some people STILL have phone number listed on there...

Those that know me and care about wow already know how to check my progress

I have zero interest in Facebook. I've never bothered to visit the place, even though RL friends have asked me to visit their pages. Why would I bother - I see them for real, face-to-face!

I like it. It will be revenge to all my friends who spam me with Mafia Wars, Farmville, and that damn restaurant game. Now I can spam them back. HAHA

If I did link it, it would be because of this.

I just have Farmville updates turned off. Which anyone who didn't care about your 50 mounts could do, too. So spam away!

Edit: I mean I have Farmville updates from friends turned off. Not my own Farmville updates. I, of course, shun and despise Farmville.

I've had my FB since it came out when I was a freshman in college and considering I never even look at it now.

I doubt i'll ever do it, I'm a closet nerd.

Please tell me how on earth you turn that crap off!

I'm on there to keep in touch with my mom, who lives far away; my nephew, who is pretty cool; my brother-in-law, who is stationed in Italy. And my sister-though I don't know why. Heh. And my mom and sister do that crap constantly!! I'm so sick of wading through that crap to find the actual messages about what's up!

As for if I'd do it, I thought about it and thought better of it. It's not the spam, it's the security thing. I don't let Facebook go through my e-mail list and I don't let them give out my personal info so that I can do that "which Flintstones character are you?!" crap. I also don't ever post photos of my daughter or even allow her name to be mentioned. Yeah, I'm not sure who'd care enough to look that stuff up on me, but I'm not taking any chances.

And I don't do enough in the game for anyone to really care anyhow. Seeing my 35th character reach level 40 isn't really that big a deal.

I am a closet WoW player. There is no way I would use an app like this.

On a side note. Why does this forum have a "Reset Form" button where every other forum has the "Post" button?

Next time you get a Farmville update hover over it and click the "Hide" button. It should then give you an option to "Hide MarySue" or "Hide Farmville" or something like that. You can choose Farmville to never see updates from that application (from anyone) ever again.

I don't know about that. I think it's interesting. I'd have all sorts of comments and questions. Like why you need 3-4 of each class... Smiley: grin

I don't do any sort of games or apps or whatever on Facebook.

A guildmate of mine got bored one day and she made a Facebook page for her Paladin, I declined her friend request.

The constant updates from people on my friends list about what questions they answered about you, or the baby calf they found on Farmville, or them needing help in Mafia Wars etc. is SUPER annoying.

I block every app I get an invite to use or see updates from but they keep creating new ones at breakneck pace, wish you could just block updates from ALL aps (unless maybe you... you know... use! that app yourself, even then I don't need to know that 30 of my friends did whatever on it) I use it to keep in touch with family from coast to coast, I don't need to know that my inlaws are cooking... nope make that eating... nope make that done dinner.... oh no now they're watching a movie... oh no walking the dog... who cares, stop spamming me and let me get the real meat that matters.

Facebook is completely pointless to me. I had it for a few years but I never cared to do anything. I don't really understand how people can be so "addicted" to it. If any of these people are actually my friends they know how to get a hold of me, they don't have to send me some message over a social network to ask me "what's up?" I got rid of it about 3 years ago and haven't ever felt the urge to get it back.

All in all, I would ever see what this app looks like on facebook!

I keep my "gaming side" separate from my social life for a plethora of reasons:

1. Some of my "friends" on Facebook are useful contacts in my profession, and many look down on gaming (which is not right, but that's another story).
2. In the odd event that I'm single again one day, I'd like to wait until AFTER they fall in love to tell them I'm a gamer (JK LOL I <3 my wife)
3. 95% of my Facebook friends care as little about WoW achievements as they do about Farmville achievements (/puke ... that "game" is terrible

I could think of more, but you get the point.

OMG YES INDEED.

My wife plays that crap. It's sooooo bad. It makes me cry inside.

1. Everything involves clicking. Lots and lots of clicking. It's a level of repetitive grind that gamers have long ago shunned, but non-gamers get hooked by the pretty pictures and end up addicted to a grind that's worse than a Korean MMO.
2. Everything new that they release costs money. Lots and lots of money. If you wanted to, you could spend as much as $10 on a building. A single building on your farm that does nothing. The prices for everything are greedy. They also provide opportunities to sign up for "free" Farmbucks by filling out surveys online, which are all just scams to get you to agree to get texts on your phone for $1.25 apiece...
3. It constantly wants you to broadcast EVERYTHING you do to your entire friend list. It's spam. No one cares if you just earned the "Animal Lover (in the ***) Blue Ribbon"
4. There is no gameplay dynamic at all. It's not a game, it's a toy. I got sick of toys when I was 10. I like games. They have a purpose. Compare Farmville to The Sims 3 and see what a "game" in the sim genre should look like. And $40 on the Sims 3 sure beats spending it on 4 buildings in Farmville ...

Ugh...

Don't worry teacake, I think you're interesting enough to stalk.

At least I hope so, or I just wasted 6 months of my life...

Facebook, Myspace and Twitter have one and only one purpose in my life: Coupons and discount codes on things and at places I actually visit/shop. Maybe to find an old friend, but once I find them, that's what email, phone and IMs are for.

Facebook is nice because I have friends from all over the place. I was in the Army and I have friends that I don't get to see everyday or even that often at all but I still care about. I like to see what they are up to.

I decided to join Facebook when I moved to Finland from the States, so I can keep up with family and friends with one application versus playing email tag with them. Since that has happened two months ago, I have blocked al of these annoying applications from them, and I wouldn't mind giving them a dose of their own medicene with this WoW app.

Also, Sid Myer's Civilization will also be a future app on Facebook, and I will check that out as well, being a Civ Fan.

I am already married and I am not a closet gamer, or a closet WoW nerd... let them see me for all my glory.
