Rate up for incorporating this word into your post. I rate malarkey higher though. :)

But yes, not all warlocks are bad. I always throw down a soulwell at the beginning of each random run, and I'd use more if the group is having a particularly difficult time. Also, while I do lifetap to restore mana when the group stops for a second, I try to immediately bandage afterwards. However, 100% of the time I've had the healer kindly throw a HoT on me before I can even barely start bandaging. I have never asked for a heal.

What the hell would a Warlock need water for?

Too true. I never carry nor use water to replenish mana; that lock was obviously not doing it right. I do always have buff food on me to eat that restores health and mana in case of a wipe (luckily a rare instance in my random heroics).

On my druid, I keep a stack of food for when the healer is out of mana between pulls.
On all my mana users, I keep at least 2 stacks of Kungaloosh (cheaper to make than to buy honeymint tea).
I've run into many tanks and healers who ask people for water, only to be told only mage water can be traded. Then we stand around and wait for their mana to regen.

on my priest healer I bring 3 stacks of water. My shaman healer usually carried two (when I used to raid I carried 4). I almost never dps instances, but I was always sure to bring water.

It seems pretty basic. Kind of like buying bullets if you are a hunter :) I haven't had any real problem of people not having water.

My priest usually brings her own water, as mage water is kind of crappy (I'm talking about levelling not max level). I wish they would fix that. I was playing my mage alt recently, and it's annoying you can buy better water than you can make. It always seems to be one tier down than the stuff you can buy.

pfff, If you're drinking it means you're not pulling fast enough.

In all honesty, when I'm tanking a heroic, I focus the healer, and as long as they have over 50% mana I'll pull. If it's less I'll innervate them and then pull. I don't really care about the dps, most of them have some way to get mana back, and a pull with no mana isn't the end of the world, just autoattack or want or something.

Try saying "mana break" and generally tanks will stop. Communication is the key here.

I did. He kept pulling saying "you're fine".

Well, I blame you here. If you need mana and ask for a break to drink, and you are ignored, you need to just sit and drink as soon as you are out of combat. If the tank pulls, continue drinking. If he drops low in health and calls for a heal . . . well, I guess right about then he's thinking he should have waited for you to drink.

Having said that, you can sneak in a drink when you're down to 70 to 80% and keep yourself topped off or close to it. It requires more water because you have to quick-drink more often, but as someone above said Kungaloosh is cheap and easy to make. There's no reason you should be below half mana in a five-man unless you get an add group, and a second add group, resulting in a long fight. Which reminds of the night I asked the tank something in a random after drinking some Kungaloosh and my question ended with a "hic" and he said "are you drinking and healing?"

Can't you just use the "Teleport Out of Dungeon" button, grab some, and then use the "Teleport Back into Dungeon" button to get back in? I could have sworn someone in a run I was in did that once when he realized he'd forgotten to repair.

Yes, you can.

On the subject of odd whispers, last night I got one from a L46 asking "where do you get it?" My curiosity got the better of me and I asked "what?" He replied "the legendaries." I said "the mace?" - I was on my pally - and he said "no, all of them." I said "wow.allakhazam.com or www.wowhead.com."

DPS: You guys need to bring water, too. If I have one more Warlock ask me, the healer, "can i haz water plzz?" I will DI the tank and leave you to be munched on by dire bunnies.

Warlock? Eh, I can't remember the last time I drank water on my warlock. I just life tap and bandage/life blood as it's quicker.

Do I bring it anyway? Of course, you never know.

Makes me happy my tank has her squire's pony and cooking so if in dire need, I can make kungaloosh.

Okay, I don't care how leet you think you are or what spec you usually play. If you have any intention whatsoever of healing BRING YOUR OWN DANG WATER! I am sick of sitting there staring at the wall because you decided that you were too good to bring the most absolute basic commodity for every mana user in the game. In addition, I absolutely refuse to pull a notoriously hard hitting boss/5 mob pull when you have 2k mana. If you didn't notice each of your little healing spells require something called mana. When that blue bar gets near zero it becomes increasingly more difficult to use those healing spells.

Sincerely,

Your Completely Annoyed Tank
(who even on his druid tank brings at least one stack of water)

Are you SURE you're not in the Rampage BG? 'cause you sound like you were in the H Gundrak run my rogue was in yesterday. I'm in replacing a DPS that they kicked after the snake boss (yes, they kicked one and then couldn't figure out why they couldn't kick the idiot priest that was healing). This idiot priest (makes me sad panda due to my main being a priest) has no water, has a half-shadow/half-holy spec, and must've left his clue at the office, 'cause he definitely didn't have it with him in the instance. Smiley: disappointed After the collosus fight, we practically screamed at him to hearth out and get some drinks. Smiley: oyvey When we moved to Moorabi, he got eaten by the undead big guy ... after we had told him to come into the room 3 times. Ran around like a chicken that had just be decapitated. Never hit Fade, never said anything. After each boss fight (and this is even with skipping Eck), the guy died to some kind of idiocy. I mean, who dies to the piranhas in the water? Sheesh.

On a better note, I routinely carry several stacks of water, nonbuff food, and several types of buff food. When DPS'ing on a caster, I've usually got enough mp/5/spirit regen to not have to drink constantly and each one has SOME mana regen ability (Innervate, Dispersion, JotW, Evocation) that usually is more than enough to keep me going. I still carry it for those odd times (right after a wipe is a good one) where it's nicer to be able to get going again fast. Even when tanking, I carry some (pally/druid) for right after wipes. It's not like it's expensive or takes up a lot of space. :P I usually carry more reagants (candles, leafs, SoKs, poisons) than I do water, but I've always got SOMETHING.

I would like to take this opportunity to say that there should be a series of Refreshment Table spells starting at 20. People need drinks a lot more in low dungeons XD

Conjure Water is your friend. And even in the cross-server randoms, I believe you can trade conjured items like food/water.

Give that, it's still a smart/prudent/non-douche move to have some of your own available. Make use of the conjured stuff when you can, but use yours if conjured is not available.

Yeah, you can trade em, it's just a bad gameplay mechanic.
For 40% base mana and a 3 sec cast, I want a frickin table, not 10 water (my Mage alt is 24 atm).

I don't offer it unless someone is desperate, it slows the group down a lot if they're relying on me for it.
