A question for Dominos usersFollow

I upgraded to the latest version. Now bar #1 is blank and I cannot move anything onto it. When I disable the addon, bar #1 in the Blizzard ui has everything on it and acts just fine. In Dominos only bar #1 acts this way.

Anyone else ever experience this? Am I missing something simple?

Maybe I should try a different bar addon, but I have used Dominos since Bongos went belly-up and always liked it.

One of my guildies was having the same problem.

It turns out another of my guildies actually knows the developer, and asked him about it.

He was going to look into it, but said the temporary solution to this issue is to use an older version of Dominos for now.

Thanks Jibini. Of course, you know Murphy right? He erased my old copy.

It's good to have Murphy to kick around at times like these.

So . . . anyone know a good bar mod?

Bartender is a good bar mod as well.

Sorry, but Dominos pizza is terrible, and definitely one of the worst pizza chains! Papa Johns and Pizza Hut are far superior.

That being said, I haven't heard any of the dominos users in my guild say they had a problem, but I will ask during raid for you tonight.

Oh, and I used to love Dominos, but switched to Bartender in tbc and haven't looked back it is great.

I love Dominos, both pizza and add-on.

But that'll learn you to be an early adopter of new technology.

Sorry Anobix, I'm going to have to disagree with you. **** Pizza Hut and Papa John's, they have very limited vegetarian options. Domino's on the other hand, makes a great vegetarian pizza, and has vegetarian pastas and a sandwich. I remember one time my bf, his brother and I went to Pizza Hut and I asked them if they had a vegetarian calzone. They did not, and if I wanted to order one I had to pay an extra $1.50 because it was considered a specialty order. The guy was nice about it, and I could tell that he felt bad about it, but I haven't been back to a Pizza Hut since because that pissed me off so much.

That may very well be true for the minority of people who strictly order vegetarian dishes. But for hte majority, that most likely order a single-topping (most popular is cheese+pepperoni), myself and pretty much everyone I know in my area leans towards either: Papa Johns, Pizza Hut, or Donatos. Dominos (at least in my OSU campus area) is considered the cheap joke pizza that people get when they are drunk and need a lot of pizzas for dirt cheap :-p

ANYWAY, back to addon discussion!

The latest Dominos version has in it's patch notes saying it's been modified to work with patch 3.3. Since that's not live yet I've not installed it and have had no problems. I'm not sure if it's Curse that put out a ptr build, or something that wound up not being reverse compatible. Either way, see if you can find the previous version of it.

Bartender > Pizza Hut > Dominoes.

I'm sorry, but if your reason for liking Dominoes PIZZA is the better VEGETARIAN options, I have not a glance of care about your opinion.

Dominoes sauce TASTES like some kinda beatnik vegan sauce, nothing but squished tomatoes, not even any herbs or spices in there. Then, they throw on a thin layer of Mozerella that I have suspicions that it melts more in transit than it did in the oven, because the dough is NEVER cooked all the way. Everywhere else I've EVER gotten pizza, you see some scorching on the cheese and crust, brings out flavor. Dominoes looks like (and tastes like) they microwaved it a couple seconds. Their meat doesn't taste all that good either, and they have VERY limited choices (at Papa Johns I can get some 15-20 different meats last time I ordered there, dominoes had like 4. Meat. For PIZZA.)

I have carnivore parts, and they like Pizza Hut, Wal Mart frozen Pizza, Papa Johns, and local rat shack pizzas much more than Dominoes.

As for the Dominoes addon, I've never been able to get it to work QUITE right for me, and have used Bartender since at least BC, probably vanilla.

For me, it depends on what I'm looking for.

I like Dominoes thin crust much better than Pizza Hut thin crust. They just have a better tasting pre-fab thin crust shell than PH has. However, for normal and pan pizza, PH > Dominoes by far.

For toppings, Papa John's > all. I do find their crust to be a bit lacking though.

The best (non-homeade) pizza I've had though was this place called Little Stevies in Boston's back bay (Newberry Street I think). 6$ for about 1/3 of a pizza fresh out of the oven (not sitting under heat lamps like they do with Sal's). Of course, this was about 13-14 years ago. We had it the day that 6 of us skipped school and hung out in Boston for the day. Fun times were had by all that day.

As far as the addon. I haven't updated it yet, but they tend to change a lot in the UI depatment on each major patch, so it wouldn't surprise me if the version for 3.3 doesn't work for 3.2.2 (current version).

Edit: You should also be able to still download the most recent "old" version from Curse. I don't know exactly (I haven't really looked on there for awhile), but they usually keep old files around for a bit. May be able to find it there or at wowinterface as well. (They do the same thing).

O.K., so Curse does keep older versions, I dl'd the oldest I could find - it was from September - and it's working. As for Bartender, I never tried it because I was told Dominos used less resources. I have no idea if that's true - as you can see, I'm pretty gullible in addition to being an early adopter of new technology.

As for pizza, I live on Long Island in New York. Every town and village has at least two pizza parlors. Dominos and Pizza Hut are for when you are too damn lazy to go out and want to order in. I don't know of any of the individual pizza places that deliver. Now, if you prefer Dominos or PH to pizza parlor pizza, you either do not live within 75 miles of NYC or you have some strange tastes. Otherwise, as I've concluded after sampling them both on trips to other states, PH is superior.

On topic of the derail: we had a tree in our guild at one time who lived in the mid-west somewhere. On vent one night she mentioned that she was going to order some cookies for delivery during a break in the raid. Cookies. Delivered to your house. I've never even known that to exist. Thank God we don't have that here where I live, I would turn into a giant couch potato with a marked resemblance to Jabba the Hut.

Han, mah bukee, keel-ee caleya ku kah. Wanta dah moole-rah? Wonkee chee sa crispa con Greedo? (Which, as everyone knows, translates to: Han, my boy, you disappoint me. Why haven't you paid me? And why did you fry poor Greedo?)

I actually rather like Domino's crust because it's doughy, but then again when I was a kid I'd make my mom cook my pancakes half raw because I liked them doughy too. I'm not quite that weird now, but yeah... Papa John's is a better alternative than Pizza Hut, although they make me sad that they got rid of their whole wheat crust. Pizza Hut's pan crust is generally very oily and disgusting. Whenever I used to eat there I always made sure to get hand tossed because it wasn't oily. If you reject my opinion because I'm vegetarian, that's fine. I reject your opinion because you're a meat eater. Smiley: tongue

I don't get people. I really don't. "Because it's too oily."
IT'S PIZZA!
It's like the idiot cholos who get their Chevy Silverado, Nissan Titan, Dodge Ram, what have you, put 13" rims on it, and lower a full size truck to lowrider height.
That's not what it's built for. A pickup truck is NOT a lowrider.
And thus, a pizza is not some sissy beatnik ****. It's Pizza. Pizza. Pizza. It's an invention made because someone wanted a thin carrying device for their greasy *** meat, cheese, and tomato basil sauce. It wasn't invented because some wheat grass sucking no gooder wanted an alternative for his feta and rye bread with ketchup.
People need to stop bastardising good stuff and making it wrong and / or sissy.

So what, because I'm a vegetarian and other people want to eat somewhat healthy we don't deserve to eat pizza? That's a pretty assholish thing to say. If I was saying that no pizza should be unhealthy and we should get rid of all meat toppings, you would have a right to make that comment, but that's not what I'm saying. I just want *some* options. I recognize that the vast majority of people in this country are meat eaters and I try very hard not to come across with a holier than thou attitude because I don't want to ostracize people. Pizza tastes good, and it's something I enjoy, I have every right to enjoy pizza without meat on it and with non oily crust. The world caters to meat eaters and those who don't give a **** about their health enough as it is.

Long Island FTW, the pizza here is incredible isn't it. After growing up here I don't think I can stand pizza anywhere out of state, it's just not the same.

People eat at chain pizza places when they're not drunk?

Seriously, chain pizza sucks. Unless you're drunk.

Depends where you live. I'm a long way from New York, and the local pizza here sucks so bad I wouldn't eat it for free, let alone spend valuable name change money dollars on it.

Dominos thin crust FTW. Smiley: tongue I hate the phone enough to be influenced by being able to order online.

lol, me too! We've got a few good local pizza places here, but I'm particularly fond of the ability to order online without talking to anyone. I don't like talking to strangers on the phone. Hell, I barely like talking to my friends or family on the phone.

Yeah I just hate the phone in general so if I want pizza its either going to the place or ordering online.

Just to illustrate my point on my cell phone, the only phone I use, in the 3+ years I have owned it I have spoken on it less then 25 hours. So about 45 minutes a month and most of that is calling to get picked up from somewhere or something of that nature.

pffffftt! What would a latte-swilling Oregonian know about pizza? Starbucks doesn't serve pizza!

Boston has good pizza. I might be okay with that.

Chicago has a lot of superior food. I love eating in Chicago. Nonetheless, deep dish sucks.
