You know what I'm talking about?

All those moments where you decided to do something and then all the powers of the universe came together to ruin it for you? The thing that inspired me to make this thread was because I just finished the Hyldesmeet part of the Sons of Hodir quest thing and I was leaving Thorim at his altar thing up on that very high piece of rock. Being a Druid, I tend to play with gravity once in a while, for instance when I have to descend and feel that flying isn't going fast enough. I play around with switching out of flight form and back in once I've reached the desired altitude.

Well... I switched out and then the game crashed.

What're the chances of me being in flight form when I log back on? Yeah, didn't think so.

What you've really got to remember is not to try and do it when you aren't in fact on your druid...

Reminds me of my Warrior in Outland, or more precisely of the time I wanted to buff Battle Shout while flying high in the sky. Yeah, didn't work out so well.

And my Death Knight's buff key is V, which is right next to C on the keyboard. C is the shortcut to character pane and I wanted to check out my stats, also while flying high in the sky.

Sometimes I wish all classes had flight form.

Omg, right?

At least give us all insta-mounts. It doesn't really make sense to me.

I'm conjuring up my swift white steed!

Still conjuring! ... Still conjuring! ... Tadaaa!

But really, being able to dismount in mid-air by accident and just watch your toon sprawl in the big empty nothingness as he plummets to the ground is kinda depressing. At least make it so you unfold a parachute when you dismount in mid-air. Unless you're in flight form, of course. That'd just be annoying.

Deciding to idly hammer a cast from a nifilim forefather (those big giants whose spirits you free with the horn of hodir) seconds before being attacked by a duellist warlock. That one stun would have won it for me, since he trinketed my repentance after he demo ported :(

Fighting Onyxia last night, we landed her just before the whelp swarm. We should have done so, anyway. Instead she decided that though she was 100K below landing, she'd do one more deep breath across the room, resulting in whelps swarming before she landed, and then she ran across the room at my bear, breathing, cleaving, and swiping the whole way.

I don't know. I think pulling a dragon out of a backpack in just 1.5 seconds is pretty damn impressive.

I'm pretty sure there's an option in the Interface options for you to turn off auto casting while mounted. Doesn't solve Mazra's problem in his OP, but it should stop you from accidentally dismounting and falling to your death on non druid toons. Smiley: rolleyes

Especially now that instead of a backpack, we pull the mounts directly out of hammerspace.

Funny story. This one time, when my guild was doing Naxx, a few people were PvPing or dueling and I somehow got knocked off of the platform where the stone is, but I was so distracted by that happening I forgot to cast Slow Fall and I fell to my death. I got laughed at. Smiley: frown

Yah, I enabled that on my Death Knight and Warrior as soon as the first suicide, but when you enable it it's for all your characters and I really like that my Druid can just heal and buff on the go.

Well, generally, assuming you're fast enough and have a good connection, you can survive (or continue on your way afterward without any inconvenience, as it may be) falls with most classes. Mages, priests, and druids have it easy, locks and shaman just need a hotkey to take off all gear with durability, 2/3 rogue specs have abilities that will save them if there's a critter or mob below, hunters can shoot something and disengage (that would be the fast enough and good connection part), paladins can bubble, warriors can charge a critter or enemy, and death knights, of course, can eyeball exactly where they're going to land, log out, call up a guildy warrior, tell him/her the situation, wait for the warrior to arrive, log back in, wait until in range of the warrior, start a duel, wait the three seconds for it to start, wait for the warrior to spell reflect, and death grip him/herself down to safety. True story.

Doesn't it take like 10 seconds to log out? And it would take less than three seconds to hit the ground from you're within dueling range, no? Unless, of course, the warrior is flying, too.
