I alternate between showing and not depending on the helm.

Sometimes they are so ugly that you have to show them. This one comes to mind. Thing is scare children ugly.

That is the best helm ever... If I could equip it, I would...

That's awesome Smiley: lol

Most helms I hate on my mage. About the only ones I've ever had that I don't hide are headbands or that blue dot thing. I really wish Blizz would work on that, but I guess it's not that big of a deal.

Especially on a Tauren. Our heads aren't built for most helms, especially not the rogue models, which ferals end up with for ff-set gear.

My first character ever was butt ugly. A gnome warlock (male) with the worst face/beard/hairstyle you could imagine. I don't know what I was thinking, because every character since then I've fully customized in the creation screen. But not that first guy. Anyway I don't play him anymore, but in BC before recustomizations and haircuts, I must have asked myself 20 times "how did I possibly create a character this ugly?".

So I definately wore my helm often :P

A guy in my guild got that exact helm of of Ony 25 for his DPS offset. It would not be that bad if it were not purple but it matches like 0 of his Ulduar and ToC warrior gear.

I got the T2 Judgement helm model off of Ony for my tank offset and it looks freaking awesome. Most Paly stuff still matches up with it nice. :D

Everyone was dissing the new t10 Druid helm in the other thread though and I thought it was really cool. Much more interesting than some of the boring stuff they have been doing lately. I also dig the rogue geist suite. Though I don't dig the dead head on the head hood of rogue t8 all that much it's still more interesting than the rogue T9 Simle leather helm model #5 that looks liek it dropped in Borean tundra.

So I guess it's all in the eye of the beholder.

The problem with the T10 druid helm was that Blizzard's picture had the green/blue gear with the yellow helm. Compare:
http://static.mmo-champion.com/mmoc/images/news/2009/october/huge-dr.jpg first release
http://static.mmo-champion.com/mmoc/images/news/2009/october/tier10_druid_hd.jpg all the recolors

The helm fits a lot more with the rest of the outfit.

My main issue with the rogue's Geist mask is just that my tauren will probably be wearing it, and it doesn't look like it'll fit well.

That comic is fail since they referred to the Wrath helm as being ugly. That still one of the most bad *** helms designs out there.

Gnomes tended to look like an oversized can opener in that gear, IMO.

And who can forget the Stormrage tier 2 druid helm, now (shown) recycled in new Onyxia loot?

I show helms because...I show helms. I only turn them off occasionally, and only so my guildmates can get confused and go "who's that?" when they don't recognize my character's face. (Works best after getting a new piece of equipment or two.)

My warlock has not had a helm shown in . . .freaking ages. I think the last one I can remember having shown was the tiki mask thing that dropped from Zul Farrak because I just thought it was a funny kind of awesome. Wore that thing forever too - well into Outlands I believe.

Since then it has been a mess of ridiculous looking helmets - not hoods; not circlets; not masks; helmets- and for quite awhile now I've had the monstrosity that is A friggin beak!!!

On my tauren warrior tank I usually keep the helm shown because they all seem . . .appropriately helmet-like and it just don't seem right sending the poor guy into the fray with his head exposed.

I turn off helms on my wimminz because I like to see the pretty. On my male toons I generally show them except for the weird cloth and leather gimp masks you get while leveling.

CAD is much funnier when it does one-shots with no relation to the storyline.

To be honest, I hate the main storyline and all of its characters. I vastly prefer his directly game-related humour.

There was one ugly helmet I just had to show on my paladin. The 'Mask of Introspection' http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?witem=33327;source=live#Screenshots

I thought it was sick. Never had a helm on display before that one.

That helm on a gnome makes him the devil to all male toons.
Imagine the gnome charging into you with that helm.

Bye bye future children.

And thank god for my priest, my priest can wear helms and look pretty (ZOMGT8!) my hunter(s) always have a gap at the neck that looks awful, regardless of what helm they wear.

Ah yes, I remember the awesome wizard hats. I know it would be lazy of Blizz, but I wish they'd make some more cloth gear with that graphic, I really miss it. They really need to work on cloth helms though, my T8.5 helm looks more like something a warrior or other melee class would wear.

I see what you mean, not every wow player would agree, but I look at mages and warlocks as being a type of wizard and wizad hats suit them, especially human and gnome mages, not so good for trolls and orc locks though. Maybe they could come up with a few different designs for each item, especially the Tier stuff as you are stuck with them for a while, just pop into a barber and choose the design you like best.

You probably want to fix your link, Aethien, as there's a new comic in place that didn't make sense to what you were talking about in the thread (had to hit the previous comic button to see the original one you were linking too lol)

The one you're wanting

The one it's linking to

Just sayin' lol
