Is there a printable Quest Database?Follow

I regularly use the Quests database here and on other sites. I have twin screens so can bring up information while playing. I find the databases really useful, but calling up 1 quest at a time on-line is not efficient.

My question is: Does anyone know if and where there is a database of quests that can be queried and multiple results printed? Preferably as a word table or an excel spreadsheet? I'm thinking of putting together an excel spreadsheet of all 7000 plus quests (how's that for an impossible dream!) but it would be crazy to start if some-one's already done it. Obviously all the data has already been entered on this and other sites, but I don't know how to create a printable report from it.

I find the best way to use a day or evening is to run around collecting all the quests I can, then make a paper list which I copy onto a template I have made in Word. I print a zone map on the left, type a list of up to 20 quests on the right and then use the Quest forum to find all the locations. It's a pencil and paper job to line them all up. By then the order the quests should be done becomes obvious.

Each of these map sheets is a very useful but pretty much a single use tool (although I do run more than 1 'toon through them 'cos I'm an old, slow, red wine lover who has stacks of low level alts on stacks of realms). It is very time-consuming to put the map sheets together so having a database available to query and prepare reports from would be great. I know it would be out of date as soon as it was started, but it would still be useful.

Anyone ever seen anything like this?

I've never heard of anything like this, but I think it's fascinating what some people do for WoW.

waste of trees. You're much much better off getting a quest addon

Well I'll be bug*****! Of course there would be quest add-ons. Much better idea. I'll go search for some now, but if anyone can suggest a good one please do.

I would recommend Carbonite personally. Much less memory intensive and far less obnoxious than Quest Helper.

I've never used Carbonite or Questhelper, but I've never had problems with Lightheaded.

I've never used Quest Helper, but Carbonite is a Godsend. Lightheaded + Tomtom isn't bad, but I still prefer Carbonite.

I use carbonite for my questing needs, but is there an addon that keeps track of quests I did/have yet to do? or can carbonite do this?

I always find my self looking for quests to do in Northrend, and can never remember where I stopped, or where quests could be.

Even with a good gaming rig, I ran into "hitches" - slow loading, stalls and other crazy behavior using it and it certainly felt like the thing had a memory leak or something. With Carbonite, I have no stalling or lagging out from the loading of the addon, it runs nice and smooth and for me is far easier to use and customize.

I found quest helper to be very naggy. I don't need something that tells me what it thinks I should be doing every time I enter a zone...I just need something that an point the way on the (rare) occasions when I don't already know where to go.

For someone already familiar with the game who doesn't need an addon nagging them to go someplace else when they're doing something, LightHeaded plus TomTom is just about perfect. Rarely does it not contain the information I need.

For quest history, there is EveryQuest. Unfortunately, for established toons, it doesn't really help all that much because it only starts tracking your quest history from the time it's installed. But if you start a toon from the ground up, you can keep track of what quests you've done and which ones you have missed.

This is one problem I have with quest addons. I like having the information available but I don't need it to hold my hand. Most the times the quest text is enough for me, other times it's a little too vague.

I used Quest Helper for all of a day. I liked that it tried to stream line the order I should complete and turn in quests, but it seemed to be based merely on proximity. About the only functionality I even considered keeping it for was that it gave you an ETA when you were flying from FP to FP.
