what other class starts off with blue items? Name one. Anyways it's not a big deal, I was joking anyways if you can't tell from the post. But you can't argue that starting at level 55 with good gear is a powerful boost.

What other class can go all out balls-postal, and end a fight with 3 yellow mobs with Full HP and never, ever run out of resources (you actually GAIN runic power by using your abilities!), and can go on and on and on and on and on and on and on and never rest?

What other class can heal itself indefinitely, without ever stopping to cast a spell (that can be interrupted)?

What other class regenerates that much HP without casting a Heal spell (that can be interrupted)?

What other class wears plate, puts out extreme DPS, but yet keeps itself at full HP always, unless you do something really stupid?

The Answer: None.

Protection Paladins are the closest; but they kill MUCH slower, and they have to sometimes cast Heal spells. Mobs that knock back, kick, and the like are very feared by Protection Paladins. Heck, I ran into a Lv70 dungeon I _cannot_ solo, because of this. I wanted to get the Book of Fel Names from Shadow Labyrinth, but with 2-3 rogues attacking me at once, who ALWAYS kick, there's just no stinking way. But if I were a Death Knight, those mobs would be easy-peasy.

I started my 58 Death Knight this morning, in fact. I was Lv60 less than 2 hours later. No other class can level that fast. Sole DPS classes need rest; hybrids still need to stop and heal now and then (I remember having to cast my fair share of Holy Lights as a Retadin and I didn't kill anywhere near as fast).

So eh, I'm inclined to believe that at the very least, Death Knights are _the_ most powerful PvE class, bar none. They have out of this world DPS, they have insane survivability and they self-heal like you wouldn't believe. "OP?" I dunno. That's a strong word that sparks many an argument. I will say that they are the most powerful of all the classes in solo PvE though.

Affliction Warlock. Three mobs is chump change. Drain Life, Siphon Life and then Lifetap make ritual slaughter at an infinite pull rate a joke.

Affliction Warlock. Siphon Life again, and it is instant cast.

Affliction Warlock. Hurray Siphon Life, again! Add in Fel Armor and we are in business.

Bah you got me I, Warlocks can't wear plate.

Seriously though, if you haven't seen a geared Warlock specced into Affliction chain pulling mobs his level or higher with ZERO downtime, and when I say chain pull I mean running back through 50 corpses and only to loot, I highly recommend it. Too bad they can't even touch a DK for DPS output in raids.

Since I have both a Warlock and a Death Knight, I see little difference between the damage and/or survivability. Yet neither one is what I consider overpowered. Zariamnk's post proves what I said about village idiots.

I personally really like the Tauren starting area for looks.
The Bloodelf and Draenei starting area's are far superior if you're looking at quests, XP and gear though.

The thing about Warlocks though, is that they start so dang weak and it takes time to get up to the good stuff, my same beef about Mage.

I have a 25-ish Warlock and a 29 Mage, both of which I stopped on because of how slow they are to level. Now, maybe in the 70s they get to where they can just dust off hordes of enemies without hardly batting an eye, but in the Azeroth levels, it is painfully slow, which is why I tend to favor melee characters (and/or a hunter), especially those who can wear mail (and later, plate).

It takes posts like this to prove the village idiot theory. Once a 'lock gets Drain Life, there is no stopping. Of course, if you don't have any idea on how to play a warlock, then you have an reason (not an excuse - a reason) for being an idiot. On the other hand, having a reason for idiocy doesn't really mean that you have to be idiotic.

For me, best starting area is Tirisfal Glades, but thats because its drenched in Forsaken lore. Blood elf area is also quite nice because of the ties to the Scourge as well.

Worse place, Elwynn Forest, I hate that area, to much running around and the quest line is boring >< I really want to roll a RP Human Pally, but im put off by the daunting task of doing Elywnn forest again :(

Troll & Orc - I remain neutral, its neither good nor bad, unless your in the profession of Mining or Herbalism then its great, plentiful nodes and herbs to take advantage of at those early levels. :P

DK > Draenei = Dun Morogh. I like Dranei just as much as gnome/dwarf. But DK just owns it up because the questline is in my top 5 for All Time quests (along with the ever so epic gate battle in Dragonblight.)

I have only been playing for the last year and haven't really had much of a chance to play Alliance. My favorite starting area is probably the Bloodelf starting zone just because of the way it looks. I also enjoyed the starting quest lines as they were fun and allowed me to explore the new world. As for levelling paths you could take, try reading some of the levelling guides and remember you can always alter the routes you take. You can avoid entire areas if you were so inclined. I still have a bit of a soft spot for Stranglethorn Vale, not sure why I liked the zone so much but I always try to spend at least a few levels there.

The blood elf starting area is still my favorite after trying everything. Not worth having a nice starting area to be horde though. :P

Azuremyst isn't bad... I don't know there's something bland about it though. It feels like I'm grinding a character up there. For Alliance, my favorite is still Elwynn Forst. Its just such a cozy place. It why I wish they'd make an entire CoT continent for the northern eastern Kingdom area that used to all be so beautiful. I'd spend all my time there.

Terrible 70-77 grind?

There's a lot of money in it, especially if you sell the quest rewards. A. lot. of. money.

yes, yer looking at about 800-1000g per level, depending on how you level, how much you depend on the auction house, and yer professions.

(eg, if you know how to save, yer looking at epic flying by level 77 easy, 75 if yer good, and 73 if you have a very profitable profession.

So far, DK has been my favorite followed by Orc. Favorite Alliance area is Drenai. My least favorite would be Night Elf.

Elwinn is a classic with Goldshire naked dancers, beauty of SW and the legendary Hogger. Mining is also excellent.

I often make gnome/dwarf alts just so I can run around doing the Dun Morogh quests, again and again. The music, the sound of snow crunching underfoot, the golden sunlight reflected in the ice - I almost wish the entire game was like that place some days.

DK starting area done the best with a very good storyline. Among old content I enjoy human's starting the most. Elvynn Forest is so peaceful and beautiful, never gets dull.

The most I hate is orcs location. I started there so many times that I hate it with passion
