Not a QQ post......

Since I have a bit of time left before I can get on, I started to think about the Q time.

I play on a relatively low population server (Silver hand) and had a 20 minute Q.

So my question to anyone who plays on a high population server is:
How long are your Q times?

(waiting to hear horror stories of 3-4 hour times)

Korgath (med/high pop) gets up to 40 mins maybe during "prime time." Definitely bearable.

The longest estimate time that I have seen on Khazgoroth so far has been 170mins. I think I was 1608 in the queue. Seems like my realm population isnt as high as other realms but players are more inclined to stay online. =(

Yeah I am on Khaz too. Just been in a queue of 1300. Has taken about 90 mins to get to the front. Not too much of an issue because I knew there would be a queue so I logged in and then went to do some shopping and now that I am ready to play, I am #20 in queue. Should be in within a minute or two :-)

I can confirm this. If you plan to log on during peak times, you might want to pop in a movie. I know at least two guildies are taking the free character tranfers to a lower populated server. Lucky for me this past weekend I logged in during the morning, no que at all.

Queue, people, queue. It's an English word that means "line" :-)

You might briefly pause before taking Blizz up on their free character transfer option. Even my medium/medium-low population realm has been experiencing queues this past week, for the first time since realm launch. If there are any realms not experiencing queues at all right now, I'd be worried about their long-term population health after the WotLK enthusiam wears off!

45 minutes (750 people queued) on Shadowsong.

Guildies have reported waiting 2 hours in the queue.

This is exactly what I tell people who are thinking about transferring.

I tell them to give it some time. Everyone is excited about the new expansion and want to play as much as possible. Then I say that soon a lot of people will be burned out from the over abundance of WoW, or will get burned out from that same grind they had to experience from 1-70. Things will go back to normal, it's just a hectic time right now, so give it a few weeks.

Wow, thats ridiculous. I thought that 5 min was alot, I guess I have it easy. My server is a medium population one, but is 3 hours behind my time. Maybe that has something to do with it. Although I've logged in at all kinds of different times and only had to wait 5 min twice since launch.

auchindoun doesn't have any queues, but i never had any trouble getting a group for stuff

I had a 16 minute wait last night, and I honestly thought that it was bad with 120 odd people in the queue. But 3 Hours ? Smiley: yikes

I wonder if the longer the queue times means there are less lvl 1's spamming crappy gold adverts, getting kicked every few seconds advancing us up the line. Smiley: tongue

Is the character info picture thing bugged ? It doesn't seem to be updating correctly. <Goes off to find obvious post about this very issue>

Would be pointless to spam gold adverts now. Have you seen the major cities? Ghost Towns. I went to IF on saturday and saw 2 people on my run from the port area to the AH to the Bank then finally to the Flight Path. Trade chat was non-existent, literally not one line of text started with [2. Trade].

A lot of good points in this thread about handling queues and not whinging about them. Quite unlike the o-boards where there is at least 120 page thread of people whinging about relatively minor queues.

I would suggest that anyone who is thinking about complaining about a queue do a bit of realm surfing and check out some of the other queues. I have seen queues of up to 2000 people on some of the Oceanic servers (Thankfully not mine), or better yet, don't complain about queues at all.

Technically, it's a French word that means "tail".
So, from the French expression "faire la queue" (to line up), comes the borrowed English expression "to queue" meaning to line up.

Back to the OP:
Strangely, I have never, ever experienced a wait time to enter the game.
Is this a sign that I am on a very low-pop server?

Or are these queues people are talking about related to BGs instead?

Hyjal, my normal server, has had up to 2K queue's, averaging to about an hour or so. Of course, this was primetime on a Saturday. I am tempted by the free transfer that is being offered, but then remember my previous experience with " free " transfers; it did not turn out free, as I ended up transferring back.
As mentioned, I am hoping the initial excitement will settle, and things will resume as normal.

Wow, I rarely have to wait, on a high pop server, if I do it's around 10 mins and I find that unbearable Smiley: grin

The last time I remember a queue on my server was when BC came out...coincidence...I think not! Worst so far has been a 40min 600+ line up and that was Sunday evening...was on playing early on Saturday so beat the queue that day.

Queue times have seem to gone down, or maybe I just got lucky. I've heard guildies say that they were on queue for 30-50 minutes, but after work last night, I popped on at 9PM on a EST server with no wait.
